This Senate speech exemplifies what makes America's system of government worth defending despite the flaws I usually highlight. The fact that reasoned, logical arguments find a platform even in the highest echelons of power—the US Senate—embodies the spirit of open discourse fundamental to all democracies everywhere. The Senator compellingly lays out the case against military intervention, which could lead to catastrophic nuclear war, grounding his arguments in hard truths in contrast to the belligerent war-mongering rhetoric that frequently dominated much of the debate since the war in Ukraine began. While one may disagree with the Senator's position, his speech reminds us of why free expression and democratic institutions are so crucial to the foundation of good governance. Only by protecting open and honest debate, free from verbal manipulation and emotional appeals, can reason and logic shape policy, even at the highest levels of power. In today's polarized political landscape, this type of address offers a welcome dose of sobriety and rational thinking when advocating for a challenging position or stance. In fractured times, speeches like this offer hope, reason may prevail, and a dose of much-needed courage in the face of difficult choices. Watch.

If governments are considering banning bitcoin, it is a troubling sign that demands vigilance, not fear. While we should not succumb to fomo or hysteria, we must recognize such actions as encroaching on human freedoms gained through centuries of struggle—including philosophical reflection, social movements, and seminal events like the the invention of the printing press and the French Revolution. The idea of universal human rights has evolved memetically, adapting to confront new injustices. Our conception of rights is still gradually evolving, influenced by historical events and broader currents shaping human progress. Bitcoin's potential to democratize access to resources evokes this ongoing human rights narrative. However, while banning self-custody would be an authoritarian affront to human progress, it is difficult to predict if many countries will ban bitcoin or if it would significantly impact power structures. However, in order to protect yourself, we must assume it will be banned, and so you must inadvertently prepare for that outcome. Although the future is uncertain, we must not take a neutral global monetary system like Bitcoin for granted. We should assume bitcoin's survival depends on individuals taking action—accumulating bitcoin, using it privately, and being prepared. Only by defending the liberties that allow new technologies to emerge will we keep thriving as a species. While this is no time for panic, it is a time for vigilance and principled action. #boatingaccident image

The notion of 'late stage capitalism' points to a system in crisis, propped up by an unsustainable fiat money system based on government-issued funny-money-monopoly-currencies like the U.S. dollar. The dollar's status as the global reserve currency allows the U.S. to print money and accumulate debt on a massive scale. This distorts the economy, exacerbates inequality, and risks eventual collapse. #Bitcoin presents an alternative with a capped supply and decentralized issuance. As a scarce digital commodity, Bitcoin cannot be debased at will by a central authority. It has the potential to serve as a lifeline in a post-fiat world and on a global scale. If the dollar's reign ends, Bitcoin could offer a path forward using sound money with known rules that no one can change. As the inevitable end game of the fiat money Ponzi scheme approaches, Bitcoin stands ready as a lifeline to the post-fiat future. The development of Bitcoin's decentralized, sound money system is a vital preparation for the failure of central bank fiat and a world seeking an alternative. Transitioning to a Bitcoin standard would require time, but doing so could help avoid the worst consequences of late stage fiat money and offer economic freedom from manipulation and mismanagement of money. As people wake up to fiat's flaws, Bitcoin will emerge as the compelling alternative to revive capitalism and build a more sustainable system for the long term.

The phrase 'this pandemic was caused by science' is a misleading framing. Science is a method for understanding the world, not an actor that can 'cause' pandemics. If former CDC Director, Dr. Redfield's speculation is correct, it was the misuse of science by people that led to this situation, not science itself. We should not demonize scientific tools, but rather hold people accountable for misusing them. Science has given us invaluable tools to understand, prevent and treat disease - when applied responsibly, science saves lives. But it must be guided by ethics and morality, not misused or exploited for dangerous purposes. Let's criticize such misuse, not attack science itself. That's really not helpful when science is demonized.

The phrase "Vires in Numeris", which means "strength in numbers" in Latin, has become a battle cry for Bitcoiners. Originally used by cypherpunks in the 1990s to express the revolutionary potential of cryptography and decentralization, "Vires in Numeris" has taken on new meaning in the context of Bitcoin. #Bitcoin realizes the cypherpunk vision of a decentralized digital cash system. But its implications go further in challenging the existing global monetary order. Bitcoin's distributed network architecture gives it resilience against control and shutdown. As more people use and mine bitcoin, this decentralization becomes even more powerful. For Bitcoiners, this is a sign that Bitcoin could have the numbers to take on dominant systems like the USD global reserve currency system. The idea of replacing the existing financial system with a Bitcoin standard may be far fetched for some and therefore controversial, but "Vires in Numeris" inspires belief in the radical possibilities of global decentralized neutral money for all of humanity. If strength lies in numbers, then the growth of Bitcoin will signify its potential to transform money and the global economy on a large scale, despite the odds. In this sense, "Vires in Numeris" has become a rallying cry for Bitcoin's revolutionary promise. image

The younger generation is growing up in an era of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence that are vastly more powerful than what older generations encountered in their youth. This means the average teen today, aged 11 to 18, is far more technologically savvy than the average teacher aged 35+. While teachers have the benefit of experience, students who have never known a world without smartphones and now AI assistants have an innate familiarity with emerging technologies. As AI systems become increasingly sophisticated, this new digital native generation will help shape how the tools develop and are applied. For better or worse, the future of artificial intelligence will be guided by those who have known nothing but a tech-infused world. This generational divide in technological fluency is both unprecedented and consequential. The power of AI must be wielded wisely, and nurturing dialogue between generations will be vital to ensuring a responsible path forward. The implications of this technological shift and generation gap are profound. image

The premeditated killings of children, including a pastor's daughter, at a Christian school by someone who had a manifesto declaring contempt and hatred for Christians is an act of terror that should be condemned and mourned. All acts of violence targeting people because of identity or belief deserve universal condemnation. However, the lack of the term 'Christianophobia' or other labels in media coverage or public outcry about this tragedy targeting people of a particular faith (or the lack of) raises questions of double standards. If a gunman killed Muslim schoolchildren, it would likely be swiftly called an act of Islamophobia. The same concern and consistency should apply to violence against people of all faiths or backgrounds. Unequal treatment of violence against groups undermines moral authority and societal cohesion. When violent acts are motivated by hate, the hateful motives and targeted identities should be acknowledged, not ignored or concealed. Or are we not in agreement that people deserve to feel safe from violence regardless of their beliefs or identity? image

This is a reminder that science has given us so much to be grateful for. Modern scientific discoveries and advancement have transformed our lives with improvements in health, communication, transportation, and more. Scientific research has revealed fundamental truths about our universe and natural world, satisfying our curiosity about existence. And scientific methods have fueled rapid innovation, enabling new technologies that were science fiction just years ago. Whether it's treatments for deadly diseases, touchscreen phones in our pockets, or spacecraft exploring the cosmos, science has opened up a world of possibilities. Science has also given us the internet, artificial intelligence and Bitcoin. As we reap the rewards of scientific progress, we should also remain committed to supporting continued scientific discovery. Scientific exploration still has so much potential to improve our future. This is why we have so much to be grateful for thanks to science. Science is also why we don't have monstrosities like this anymore. image

The real-time application of game theory in the context of Bitcoin is fascinating. Those who hold religious values about money that align with Bitcoin tend to adopt it. However, in doing so, they unwittingly relinquish their power to impose their beliefs on others. This is because their need to protect their own wealth generated by their hard work outweighs their desire to impose their will on others. Essentially, Bitcoin eliminates the potential for religious imposition on others. This is why I support the Islamic case for Bitcoin.

Bitcoin's continued rise is captured perfectly in the common saying among Bitcoiners, "first gradually, then suddenly". Bitcoin’s inevitably is clearly put on display, as seen in Lebanon recently where its value soared from 25,000,000 to 360,000,000 LBP (Lebanese Pound) in just one month during it's most recent banking crisis. This trend will repeat in other countries as the US dollar's hegemony declines and heads into its tail end. Bitcoin is a unique opportunity to preserve wealth that has never existed before, and its potential as a neutral currency for all of humanity is unparalleled. Bitcoin's disruptive power is undeniable, and its ascent signifies a paradigm shift in the way we perceive and handle money. Bitcoin fixes money. image

The continuous emphasis on racial differences and division the current political climate has fostered will lead to a potentially disastrous outcome. If this trend continues, it will result in violent conflicts between people of different races, otherwise known as "race wars." Such a situation would be catastrophic with no winners, as everyone would suffersignificant losses including loss of lives, property, and social cohesion. No individual or group would emerge victorious or benefit from such a conflict. The woke’s anti-racism reverse-racism is now at the heart of the current inflamed dynamics. A new approach needs to be devised fast to better foster unity, understanding, and inclusivity among people of different races to prevent the escalation of racial tensions. A culture of tolerance and respect is necessary to foster harmonious coexistence among all individuals and groups. This video is not for the faint of heart. You’ve been warned. https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1630610808592908293?s=46&t=LI9xIeVYmB24eMONWxDkGg

Despite the religious allusions in the language used and the authoritarian posturing, I have repeatedly found myself supporting Bukele. Although his approach is contentious, his objective appears to be commendable. Bitcoin is positioned as a barrier between his government and its ability to suppress the populace, making this a pivotal moment for #Bitcoin. Video: image

A common propaganda approach has emerged, which involves labeling individuals who disagree with arbitrary policy decisions as conspiracy theorists. However, this strategy is going to backfire in the long term. Some recent event labelled as conspiracy theories by the mainstream media, such as the idea that Covid originated from a laboratory leak or that gain of function research poses a threat to society, have been validated. Moreover, there are reports of individuals who have been injured by vaccines, which suggests that some conspiracy theories may have some basis in reality. Vigilance is required. Or we end up in digital dictatorships. --- Lessons from history and conspiracy theories: Throughout history, there have been instances where individuals who proposed ideas that challenged the prevailing beliefs of their time were initially discredited, ridiculed, and sometimes persecuted. But, as more evidence emerged to support these ideas, they eventually became accepted as true. This is a common pattern in scientific and intellectual progress. I’ll give you an example: the idea that the earth is round. While it is widely accepted today, in the past, several individuals who proposed this idea were met with skepticism and even ridicule. However, as more evidence emerged, including observations of ships disappearing over the horizon and the round shadow cast by the earth during lunar eclipses, the idea eventually became accepted. Similarly, the idea that the earth revolves around the sun was initially met with resistance. Pythagoras, Aristarchus, Galileo, Copernicus, and others who proposed this idea were met with opposition, and some were even persecuted for their beliefs. Again, as more evidence emerged, including observations of the phases of Venus and the motions of the planets, the idea eventually became accepted. Take another example; the idea that washing hands reduces infections and deaths in hospitals. One Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis, proposed this idea in the mid-19th century, but it was initially met with resistance from the medical community. Once again, as more evidence emerged, including studies showing the efficacy of hand-washing in reducing infections, the idea eventually became accepted and is now a standard practice in healthcare. The idea of genetic inheritance was also initially met with skepticism. Gregor Mendel's work on pea plants, which laid the foundation for our understanding of genetics, was largely ignored during his lifetime. Yup, you guessed it, his work was rediscovered in the early 20th century and has since become a fundamental principle in biology. Similarly, the existence of atoms was proposed by 5th century BC Greeks and even earlier by the Chinese, but it took several centuries for the idea to gain acceptance. The concept of atoms was initially met with skepticism and was not widely accepted until the development of modern atomic theory in the early 20th century. Other examples include the harmful effects of cigarettes on health, the importance of antiseptics in preventing infections, the discovery of the blood circulation system, and the contributions of Abu Bakr al-Razi to modern medicine. All of these ideas were initially met with skepticism or even persecution, but they eventually became accepted as true. Obviously not all ideas are true. Some ideas are indeed false or unfounded, and that is why its important to approach all claims with a critical and skeptical mindset, and evaluate them based on the available evidence and be allowed to do so as well. Having said that, the historical examples of individuals who were initially discredited but later validated demonstrate the importance of keeping an open mind and being willing to challenge prevailing beliefs in the pursuit of truth. image
