The main reason I came back to Christianity after eight years of atheism is because of two things: Bitcoin and my children. For years I searched for a framework to raise my kids in. I tried stoicism, new ageism, agnosticism, and atheism. All of it left me dissatisfied. All of it felt like handing my children a bankrupt inheritance. Bitcoin changed me. It lowered my time preference—suddenly I was thinking about the future, my legacy, and my children. That forced me to ask deeper questions. And when I searched for answers, I kept running into Christ. My testimony feels simple: I looked everywhere else, but only Christianity gave me a model of reality that actually worked. Creation, sin, death, resurrection—Christianity explains not only success and failure, but the countless side effects and nuances of this broken world. And then you look at the Bible itself—how it came to be over centuries, organically, with the same markers that life itself has. You’ve probably seen the chart of inter-testament references. My old atheist mind said, “That’s circular reasoning.” Yet it’s the same kind of “circular reasoning” that underpins Bitcoin’s very value. Both are rooted in truth, in something beyond the self. Bitcoin pointed me to the long game. Christ showed me the eternal one.

Both my boss and my neighbor who is a financial advisor acted surprised when I told them I was a bitcoiner and not a shitcoiner. Surprised because it had not crossed their mind to differentiate the two. In 2025

Billionaire cringe posting his tech that makes anime bikini babe pictures dance was not on my bingo card for 2025, and yet it totally tracks.

I bought a small town office building to get away from the homeschool noise. Then I let the church quilting club into the larger half. Now the wife and kids are here once a week 🙃 Wouldn’t have it any other way though

I don’t walk around turning off lights at night. Not because I’m lazy— Because I’m a dad. My dad didn’t get to tuck me in. Divorce stole that rhythm. So now, every night, I tuck five kids in. After that? I’m spent. I’m not flipping switches. Not chasing after forgotten lamps. Motion sensors light the house. Automations shut it down. I eliminated a daily friction that drained patience and bred resentment. Now I give that energy to my kids. Because fatherhood deserves margin. And sometimes, the highest leverage thing a dad can do… is automate the lights. #dadhacks #lifehacks #wifehacks

When a people seek unity, they will never find it directly. We can only find it by seeking Truth first. - my Pastor this morning bringing the fire 🔥

A wife should cut her husband’s hair. What other mild nuisance (or worse if you are rural like me) can a wife so lovingly replace with a pure, positive, sensual encounter of simple grace and work of the hands… On the very head which the man will present to the world for the weeks ahead, no less! “I would never trust my wife with that” you say? Bro, you need a dose of Rossi and to let go of your borderline gay aesthetic obsession. The worst that you get is a prison cut and you look more hardass anyway. The best that you get is a handsome cut to perfection and, over time and learning curve, an intensely bonding procedure that is a one way ticket to bonetown and a brilliant dopamine loop as she admires her handiwork in the days to come. If she’s afraid she’ll mess it up (mine was), it’s the perfect time to show grace to her and yield patience and compassion. Give it time and trial and error. Every wife can master this skill for their man. After 2 years like this, and I get a handsome monthly cut not a buzz twice a year, I can hardly believe this tradition was not passed down more eagerly. A wife should cut her husband’s hair. It’s win/win.

My girls didn’t care about toy cars at all until they saw the movie Cars. My boys were “driving” their toy cars since they could hold them and sit upright. Now they play cars together, and the girls are making up a story and projecting characters onto the metal. The boys are still just driving. Bbbmm bbbmm!

A couple of months ago I set up a ChatGPT daily Bible verse reminder custom to my situation and it’s been really amazing tbh. Just go tell it about your struggles in your current season of life and ask it to send a verse every morning at 7am to encourage you and build you up on your journey. I may even share my prompt here if anyone wants it. It’s long because I ranted with voice to text on, but that’s why the results are great: the model has enough context.

The chokecherries yielded handsomely this year. Pancakes and chokecherry syrup tonight. Wife canned at least 3 years worth of syrups and jams. image
