Argentina things. First week at the main coworking spot in Cordoba. Almost 10am on a Monday and there’s only one other person here

Went to a cueva to trade $2000 usd for pesos and came back with this stash #latestagefiat

Got 2kg of “carne canino” from the local butcher for 800 pesos Argentinos. Or 0.30 usd per kg! “Carne canino” means meat for dogs - all the left over pieces. Lots of meat, fat and cartilage though, not just bones. So that was two weeks ago. Today I went to a different butcher and the guy couldn’t find the price code so he just gave 2 kg to me. My last dog died of cancer because although I bought “quality” kibble, I didn’t realize all of that is cancer causing garbage. This second pup has been on a mostly meat diet the last few years, and Argentina makes that so much easier.

Talked to the security guard of the building I just moved into for an hour. Smart guy, studying to be a lawyer, and he’s already studied enough to have solid questions. Way better questions than when I first started. In El Salvador I related mostly with Bitcoiners because it was easy. In Argentina it’s much harder, a country of newbs mostly. Fun either way as long as I can talk about Bitcoin 😁

Bought a car in Argentina today. They meticulously evaluated all the $100 bills I had. This one was rejected because of the writing. Another because of a stain. Not sure how much I can get for them. What’s going on with money here is fascinating. Everyone’s a money trader. I traded a few thousand USDt for usd bills for only 0.25% today, but realized I needed pesos so asked the Chinese guy at the corner store if he wanted dollars for pesos and then I traded with him. I’be been trading dollars for pesos with the owner of the gym I go to the last couple of weeks. He even helped me make a digital transfer to the car dealership for the deposit. Money is on everyone’s minds here. Just not yet Bitcoin…

8am in Berlín, El Salvador and I’ve already made two Lightning payments. 1st was 4,575 sats for breakfast at Marlen’s. 2nd was 19,700 sats at Family Market for some patas de pollo for our dog. I make about 2-4 LN payments a day here. It’s normalized.

Paid $1.50 to lift in some dude's house in San Salvador. He turned to first floor into a gym. I'm going to ask him later if he lives upstairs. My guess is he does.

I've only traveled the tourist route so far - airport to San Sal to Ruta de Los Flores to Zonte - but I can say that those roads are much better than the roads I drove on in Mexico. The highways in Ruta de los Flores are actually peaceful to drive on, vs the mountain highways in México which were always stressful for various reason. "El dinero alcanza si el gobierno no lo roba" This government really does seem like its working on fixing the foundations of the nation, notjusto doing things for show.
