I explained the Core v30.0 situation to my wife today and she worked with me to translate it into terms that she can relate to. ‘So it’s like one group of dog walkers wants to continue to use leashes of different sizes, (or not use leashes) and another group who wants to abolish dog leashes because leashed dogs can sometimes escape.’

So I was listening to This Week in Tech and the talking heads were discussing how AI video generation is at the point now where you can’t trust anything you see on the internet. They concluded that we need a new trust model. Correct me if I am wrong, but don’t file hashing + private key signing + Bitcoin time-stamping fix this?

I am really not looking forward to tax season. Not because I have a large amount of realized gains taxes to pay. But because I like to use lightning and accounting for small or micro lightning transactions is currently a massive pain in the ass. I’ve bought some products, supported some causes, zapped Satoshi’s to lots of folks on Nostr, using untold experimental wallets … basically your capital gains paperwork nightmare. Please, please, please … if you run lightning wallet software, please add, ‘Export transactions to CSV!’. I imagine that it would take minutes to vibe code that.

Been reading The Hail Mary Project by Andy Weir and I’m my brain is seeing everything in terms of space craft and connecting airlocks now. So imagine you had a earth spacecraft with lots of air supplies stored in liquid form that is parked next to an alien ship that was basically an low pressure, infinitely expanding balloon. Then if someone built a connecting tunnel between them and opened the airlocks at both ends. Let’s call that the airlock tunnel Strategy. The air would flow between them, the balloon ship would expand. The airlock would get very windy and even hot. Meanwhile the pressure sensors on the earth ship would sense the pressure drop and open the stored reserves to replenish it. There would probably be some alarms too. Eventually there’s no more stored air, pressure equalizes on both sides and you have two pressurized craft.
