Austin Bitcoin Club what’s zappening?
For me laser eyes used to mean NGU, now it means laser focus.
Three interesting terms that all basically mean the same thing:
- Pseudonym
- Smurf
- Sybil
Attention: high time preference
Retention: low time preference
What’s zappening my plebs
It took me about 8 months in the Austin Bitcoin community to transition from having no opportunities and saying yes to almost anything to having too many opportunities and saying no to almost everything.
It’s possible again to build apps that move money and move messages without friction
Companies are scrambling to get caught up on Lightning/nostr
Someone already zapped me 😂 I literally just enabled it and haven’t told anyone yet
Open protocols, open networks, free open source software, freedom money, all coming together, it’s so beautiful 🥲
My definition of “fees pamping” has changed drastically over the last year and a half
Yesterday I was imagining a future where I could build a full dev bootcamp on nostr that takes place in an open VR space
You could imagine eventually emitting nostr events with coordinates / links to assets for 3d spaces that clients can pull down from a relay and render in real time
nostr is winning adoption because of it's simplicity, ease of use, and the convenience of keeping the client server model for building on it.
But this means decentralization will need to happen at the relay level. If it doesn't we're just rebuilding Mastadon
Is anyone working on Git/GitHub on nostr? Any projects or repos I can check out?
I don’t move fast, but Bitcoin makes me move fast.
Still unsure of what I think about nostr’s long term viability but damn it’s fun as hell right now and seems to be working well
Gm, the King James Bible is 9.8mb in total when converted into hex
Given the maximum size of an inscription 400,000 bytes you could put the entire bible on the Bitcoin chain with just 47 inscriptions
