Lets have a quick look at how the Fediverse is doing:

As you can see from the various metrics, not very well. While the total user count seems to be growing, this is mostly an artifact of the fact that statistics gathering is op-in. The active users ratio is like always dropping and atm at an unimpressive ~15%. The comments to postsratio is ~1/20 which underscores that the wider fediverse is generally just the same astwitter was: A lot of liners talking to themselves, with hardly any interaction, and if there is, hardly meaningful or deep.
Most interaction that goes on in fediverse are sterile post boosts and "likes".
Who can blame them though, when the fediverse has been colonized by the very worst agressive and unpleasant drama-creators from the second twitter exodus in Oct-Nov 2022 that are just looking for an excuse to make you the next target of their ire, with certain to follow report bombings, defederations and the fediblock hammer in case? No sane and normal human wants to be part of such a network.
The only part of fediverse that seems to be doing well in terms of genuine, organic user activity are the "dark fedi" and NOSTR. Everything else is languishing.
