One cannot go to the @The Space and hang with bitcoiners without getting a case of the stoke #stoked #art #grownostr image
Doing some lab work. Just took agar and LC out of the pressure cooker. Going to pour dishes soon. #mushrooms #lab #work

Black King Oyster harvest today. Some stats about this harvest: I spawned 1lb of colonized grain to 10 lb bags of sawdust/soy hull gourmet substrate (thanks @Foxfire Mushrooms for supplying!) on 02/19/2025. That means it took 37 days for these. Probably half of that time it was colonizing, half it was in the fruiting tent. After pulling the mushrooms off of the block the total weight was: 4.716kg I trimmed up these mushrooms to remove less desirable parts: Good looking mushrooms: 3.506kg Compost pieces: 1.21kg So about 75% yield there. Which could definitely be improved by me harvesting at a better time, and maintaining better environmental conditions. There is something in mushroom growing called "biological efficiency" (BE) which tells you how well you did. Each species of mushrooms has a range of acceptable values here. Biological Efficiency = (Fresh Mushroom Weight / Dry Substrate Weight) × 100% Biological Efficiency -> (3.506 kg / 5.443 kg) × 100% Biological Efficiency = 64.4% I did the calculations based on a couple of difference dry substrate weights, which gave me a BE of 48.3% to 77.3%. This is lower than the ideal (100-150%), but also my execution wasn't really ideal either. Its good to get this all written down so that next time around I have a goal to beat! https://learn.freshcap.com/growing/mushroom-yield-and-biological-efficiency/ #mushrooms #mushstr #grownostr #science #math
#asknostr @npub1ex7m...vyt9 I have had two different people try to send me bolt11 invoices from Strike, which had expiry of 60 seconds instead of 3600 seconds. I cant find any setting to change it either? But on my account when I generate an invoice and decode it shows the typical 3600. Any ideas here? Actually to be exact, the two invoices my friend sent to me from strike had an expiry of 57 seconds. Weird?
Here is some pretty nice looking Golden Treasure Oyster and Black King Oysters I fruited this week. #mushrooms #mushstr #grownostr
Golden Treasure Oyster harvest did end up panning out pretty good in the end!
Harvested some Reishi #mushroom over the weekend. This stuff is crazy. It is extremely tough and looks just like wood. #mushstr #grownostr
GM Will work for sats #proofisinthepudding (Or I guess proof is in the tea, but I ain't paying to regenerate this video :P)
Say hello to my little friends. I picked these scrub oak acorns from the Colorado mountains last year and they are growing well in the tent. Does anyone have a good solution for little tiny fruit flys? I need to solve it before I get more mushrooms growing in the tent next door. #plantstr #cacti
Here is the story of getting the LightningSpore S19k miner up and running and the learning along the way... It goes pretty in-depth, so I think it should be helpful for people who really want to know the details of getting a home miner up and running. First I ordered my miner from KaboomRacks. Apparently my rep went on vacation and stopped responding to customers, so I thought I was elaborately scammed for about a week. I got the miner finally, plugged it in to my 240V outlet that had long been waiting for it. The miner was loud! I knew this but obviously this wouldn't fly in a home. My friend and I took the miner apart to clean the dust and grime, and to my surprise, this one was pretty clean. The S15 I won at auction with Denver BitDevs was grimey AF! I quickly buy some Noctua fans to solve the fan problem. Then I realize I have a new problem... The standard fan cables are 4-pin in-line connectors, but this miner includes 2 4-pin rectangular fan cables, and 2 4-pin inline. So I quickly try and find a fan adapter. I order a fan adapter from Ebay, but upon closer inspection of the control board PCB, I realize that I can desolder the square connector, and I can solder in my own right angle linear connector. The pictures show the solder job. It should've be easy, but the PCB has large copper traces which made it difficult to heat up the solder. But I got it done. Also meanwhile I debug the fan issue, I 3D print some standoffs, since the Noctua fan is much thinner than the stock fan, you cannot use the screws as-is or else it will poke inside and destroy a capacitor or short something out. I also learn that since I am using custom fans, with a different RPM rating than the stock fans, the stock firmware won't allow the device to mine. I go to install BraiinsOS on my miner, when I stumble into the funky world of Miner Control Boards. I learn that, in addition to the laundry list of miner models out there (in the S19 series), XP, Jpro, Kpro, hydro, S19 vanilla, and more, there is also a handful of control boards. So even when narrowing down to S19Kpro, there are 4 control board options, Beaglebone, Amlogic, Xilinx, and CViTek. I learn that Antminer is actively trying to prevent custom firmware, and the firmware I am running is one of the firmwares that tries to get in the way. In general, I learn that CVitek is I think the newest, and most documentation doesn't always even mention that it exists. Finally, I figure out a way to downgrade my firmware, so then I can use the Braiins tool to remotely install BraiinsOS. Almost there I promise... I discover my fans aren't good enough to run the thing at full power, which is fine I guess. BraiinsOS made it pretty easy for me to underclock it to 1500W, where it seems to be stable. Lastly, even with this new firmware, sometimes I reboot and it goes back to the old firmware for a few minutes. I haven't yet determined if this is a problem.
