I find people with strong partisan beliefs in any dichotomy interesting. They can recite the same conversation scripts for hours with people they agree with, or have long heated debates with the "other side," but somehow shut up if they end up talking to someone who doesn't fit inside their Overton window. All the models break down and they're left having to think for themselves.
