Science and History does not stop after your fourth grade textbook. There is more to the subject than that oversimplified paragraph. Learning is not convenient, it’s challenging. It never ends. It takes effort.
What phrases just irritate you when you hear it?
I have a couple.
1. “It’s just a theory”
2. “ here’s the kicker”

A big part of learning is challenging what you previously thought you knew.
It’s more than fun facts and confirmation.
I am what you would call an Anti-Theist.
Not only do I not see any evidence for belief, I personally find all the options harmful.
This doesn’t mean I’m Anti-Christian, just Anti-Christianity. This applies to all religions. Not against the believer. Against the religion itself.
Socialism is workers, or public, ownership of the means of production.
State-Socialism is an oxymoron that means the state owns the means of production.
One moves towards the goal of Communism, the other typically is used as justification for authoritarian rule.
Too many people don’t understand the difference between publicly owned and state owned. I’m curious if it’s just because in United States of America they were defending Capitalism.

I had an argument about the Coast Guard reclassifying the swastika as “potentially divisive”
Them: other cultures use the symbol. So it might be to be more inclusive.
Me: the Nazi swastika is rotated about 45 degrees. It’s obvious which swastika is which. Also the noose was also reclassified.
Accurate. 
Coast Guard reclassifies swastikas and nooses as hate symbols after reclassifying them as “potentially divisive”.
The problem is that they felt comfortable enough to test those waters to begin with.
Food for thought.
