Behind every "clever EIP-7702 exploit" and multi-billion-dollar tracking chart is the actual human wreckage: "Because of your hack yesterday, my positions were liquidated, and I lost everything I had worked so hard for." Anyone deep in the hole knows this feeling: moving your last dollar to defend a margin position that evaporates five minutes later. CT treats a $6.3B hack like entertainment. Meanwhile, ordinary retail traders were liquidated to zero in three minutes, paying gas fees to send suicide-note-level grief to a North Korean cyber unit that doesn't care. Stay out of the leverage casino. It always eats its own. image

Official certified list of Web3 projects with hardcoded admin backdoors. $2.8 billion frozen in a single afternoon. Every token on this table admits smart contracts are just permissioned SQL databases with worse UX. Lazarus didn't care. They spent $0.92 gas to batch-sweep everything, let centralized issuers pause the paper assets, and left with unfreezable native ETH. CT celebrates $2.8B frozen as a security win. This list only proves which tokens have a built-in "call the issuer" panic button. Meanwhile, 195,000+ native ETH is vanishing into Tornado and cross-chain routes. Censorship resistance exists only if there's no phone number to call. Stay Native, on any chain. image

This is getting crazier. A poisoned Claude Code extension in the Cursor marketplace just compromised up to 5,000 developers. Local AI coding tools have full read access to your .env files, SSH keys, and terminal execution by design. Developers hand them the keys to the kingdom voluntarily. This is how the Binance signing pipeline got breached. If you own the dev’s IDE, you own the KMS orchestration, the API tokens, and the hot wallets. The next multi-billion-dollar exploit won’t come from a smart contract bug. It will come from a VS Code plugin. Maybe it’s time to continue working on the sandbox.

Tether and Circle only have a blacklist function. Synthetix has a “transferFrom anyone’s wallet without approval” admin backdoor. They didn’t just freeze the 8.41M SNX—the protocolDAO forcibly pulled the tokens from the hacker’s address into their multisig. Saying “fuck Kim Jong Un” while proving SNX holders don’t custody their tokens is peak Web3. “Not your keys, not your crypto”—unless you hold SNX, where protocolDAO can remote-confiscate your balance anytime. Lazarus spent $0.92 in gas to steal it; Synthetix used one multisig call to show decentralization was an illusion. I’m confused about the real crypto ethos.

Aave is rushing to set LTV to 0 across USDT, USDC, and major alts because they know exactly what Lazarus would do next: deposit $2B in soon-to-be-frozen stablecoins as collateral, borrow out all clean native ETH and WBTC, and leave the lending pools holding the unfreezable bad debt. Money Legos turning into emergency lockdown mode real quick. "Permissionless finance" until an APT group steals billions and the top lending protocol has to turn off collateralization for half the market via emergency multisig. Setting LTV to zero is smart risk management, but it also proves once again that DeFi only works when everyone behaves.

Etherscan saw retail trying to piece together a $6.3B heist and casually rolled out their own in-house Chainalysis: 93 entities and 162 transaction paths mapped across 6 EVM chains straight into Tornado Cash pools. The line between block explorer and federal tracking tool is officially gone. Block explorers used to just print raw hashes. Now they ship enterprise-tier forensic charts for state-sponsored hacks in real time, from the EIP-7702 entry point to 0.1 ETH Tornado pools across half a dozen L2s. Waiting for the Etherscan dedicated API price to rise. image

Just shipped a front-row seat to the most unhinged human behavior in crypto: Lazarus drains $6.3B from Binance, and the on-chain input data instantly turns into a digital soup kitchen. People write full sob stories to a sanctioned North Korean APT group begging for airdrops and trading capital, beggars pay gas fees to ask Kim Jong Un's cyber division for lunch money and trade margin. "大哥能让我体验一把暴富么,感恩" Enjoy the cringe — the permanent record of crypto's down-bad energy. image

Draining $370 million in native ETH and 63 separate ERC-20 tokens in a single atomic transaction. Total gas cost? $0.92. - Zero `approve` calls—executing straight `transfer()` inside the hot wallet's own context. - `staticcall` + `continue` error isolation so a single blacklisted token doesn't brick the whole $6B batch. - Leaves exactly 1 ETH behind so hot wallet queues don't error out early. - All executed in one block for less than a buck. State-sponsored engineering makes retail smart contract optimization look like amateur hour. Lazarus wrote cleaner, more gas-efficient routing code in their sweeper contract than 99% of DeFi protocols on CoinMarketCap. Breathtaking efficiency.

Reading the reconstructed bytecode of the Binance EIP-7702 sweeper (`0x63e8...6fae`) is wild. This wasn't a generic drainer. It was custom-engineered for Binance 14's architecture: - Leaves exactly 1 ether behind (`bal - 1 ether`) when sweeping ETH so Binance's automated hot wallet queue wouldn't error on gas and trip alarms. - Uses raw `staticcall` + `continue` loops with custom error codes (`SweepItemFailed`) so one bricked or blacklisted ERC-20 wouldn't revert the $6B batch. - Includes a custom `callExecute` function to impersonate Binance 14 as controller of an external vault holding $823M in USDC. They leave a comment: "robberies could be prevented if getaway cars were slower." You can't fully blame EIP-7702, but it sped up the attack. Without 7702, draining 64 tokens plus an external $823M vault from a live exchange hot wallet meant fighting moving nonces across 70+ transactions. Defense systems would've killed it after tx #3. With 7702, Lazarus sprayed 50 consecutive nonces in one type-4 payload, turned an EOA into a custom proxy, and atomically swept billions in a single block. Ethereum core devs built the ultimate getaway car. Surgical state-sponsored engineering. This could be etched onchain: `if (bal > 1 ether) { http://to.call{value: bal - 1 ether}(""); }` image

The Binance $5.6B drain is a masterclass in modern EVM exploitation. It wasn't a complex logic bug. It was an EIP-7702 delegation hijack: 1. Setup: Attacker funds 0x7c86 via Tornado Cash, deploys a sweep contract (0x63e8), and runs three live dry-runs on external wallets. 2. Execution: Attacker submits an EIP-7702 batch with 50 pre-signed authorizations (nonce n to n+49) to hit Binance 14's moving nonce window. 3. One authorization hits. Instantly, Binance 14 (an EOA) is reprogrammed to run the attacker's contract bytecode. 4. Execution looks totally organic: Binance 14 sweeps itself clean. Internal threshold alerts don't trigger because, from the nodes' perspective, the hot wallet is just executing its own transaction. 5. Binance 16 immediately auto-refills 28,000 ETH due to automated treasury rebalance scripts, feeding the exploit loop. The cold truth: you cannot forge an EIP-7702 delegation list. For this to execute, the attacker already held the raw private key or unconstrained signing access to Binance 14's HSM/KMS. But hey, 5.64 billion drained across ETH, BTC, and Tron. 2.54 billion frozen by Tether, Circle, Ripple, and World Liberty within hours. Code is law until the stablecoin admin keys log in. Binance got bailed out by the very centralized choke points the cypherpunks warned you about. Hardware wallets leak your home address. Centralized exchanges leak the keys to the kingdom. Self-custody on native, non-delegated chains remains the only honest baseline. At least you know what to avoid.

Drained $5.6B from Binance using bleeding-edge EIP-7702 batch signatures. Caught because MetaMask default-selected "pay gas with USDT" and logged their IP on ConsenSys servers. You couldn't write a better script: - Wallet had 1.75B USDT and 2 native ETH ready for gas. - In a panic, the operator blindly clicked confirm without noticing MetaMask's smart gas station. - MetaMask relayer paid the ETH, charged 127 USDT, and logged the raw client request on their backend API. Advanced chain exploitation defeated by Web2 frontend UX. One more thing to avoid. image

binance official post-mortem just dropped: $6.3b affected, caused by a single devops engineer's laptop getting compromised. the corporate spin is wild: "no evidence of private key leakage." you didn't need the private key. the attacker had remote access to your devops machine, hopped onto internal servers, and used your own signing pipeline to authorize the eip-7702 sweep. billions in security budgets and multi-sig infrastructure, completely undone by an endpoint sitting on an engineer’s desk. crypto in 2026: - eip-7702 delegation hijack - $6.3b total drained - $3.0b frozen by centralized issuers - root cause: one devops laptop breached you don't attack the cryptography. you attack the guy with sudo access.

Look at the contrast: Binance loses billions: - Coinbase manually blocks addresses - Tether and Circle freeze billions in 60 minutes - Ripple and World Liberty coordinate in group chats - Executives hug it out on X A normal user loses $50k to an approval scam: - "Blockchain transactions are irreversible, anon" - "Code is law" - "Have you considered reading the contract bytecode?" - Zero help from stablecoin issuers Decentralization for the peasants, emergency bailouts and centralized freezes for the tier-1 cartel. There are two crypto industries, and you’re not in the protected one. image

It’s only going to get bigger. $1.5B was the ceiling yesterday; $6.3B is the ceiling today. Crypto liquidity is centralized into few giant honeypots, while the attack surface remains a single DevOps engineer’s laptop at home. We spent 10 years adding protocol complexity, EIP AA, and cross-chain wrappers, but the adversary is a state-sponsored APT unit with infinite patience and resources. When a nation-state can net $3B+ in liquid native crypto from one remote worker’s compromise, $6B is the new baseline. Next cycle will have an $11-figure post-mortem; $10B is already queuing up.

OneKey founder nailed the real threat to IBIT: Everyone thinks Coinbase cold storage means your BTC is safe in an impenetrable vault. They forget how Bybit ($1.5B) and Binance ($6.3B) actually happened. Adversaries don't crack air-gapped private keys. They poison the developer pipeline, manipulate the transaction approval UI, and let authorized signers unknowingly sign the theft. IBIT holds 815k BTC under a single custodian. Coinbase's custody agreement caps liability at $100M per cold address, with $320M in shared commercial crime insurance. If a state-sponsored APT compromises Coinbase’s internal signing pipeline, BTC has no freeze() button. ETF shares take a 10% haircut, and retail absorbs the hit. Cold keys don't protect against compromised approval flows. Bunker mode indeed.

A fake "vtalik.eth" sent an on-chain message to Lazarus teaching them OPSEC lessons, calling them "your excellency" and begging them not to return the funds. It reads like a full tutorial: - "Binance failed their fiduciary duty, keep the money" - warns against sending to a CEX - recommends Tornado Cash - advises bridging ETH into XMR via THORChain and other swaps - ends with a Bible verse: "the Lord giveth and the Lord hath taken away" He's clearly an outsider playing expert; some recommended services would freeze the funds instantly. The blockchain is a crime scene, a courtroom, and a shitposting forum in one block. Unbeatable entertainment. Crypto never changes. https://etherscan.io/idm?addresses=0x82cc99c961ef61eec1709f561cc3c79e0ec8ba1b,0x5227f603c1ee34ce3c06efe6477003bdfccb2f8c&type=1 image
