The Pulp delivered a first-class ruckus at Glastonbury — with all the style and class that only Jarvis Cocker can bring.

Although Alpha Blondy is known as a reggae artist, he once said that deep inside, he had "a little rocker" in him. He chose to cover *“Wish You Were Here”* because the melody deeply resonated with him—it reminded him of his homeland, Côte d'Ivoire, and the friends he had left behind during his time in New York.
The song was recorded during a personal and national crisis. Blondy had vowed not to release new music until peace returned to Côte d'Ivoire, which was then facing civil war. The cover was included in his 2007 album *Jah Victory*, a work shaped by longing, resilience, and political consciousness.
Produced by **Tyrone Downie** (Bob Marley’s former keyboardist) and recorded at the iconic **Tuff Gong Studios**, the song was reimagined in a reggae style while preserving its original soul. Blondy viewed the song as timeless and universal, one that could be played in any genre without losing its essence.
For Blondy, “Wish You Were Here” became a heartfelt tribute to lost friends and distant loved ones. It wasn’t just a cover—it was a personal message of yearning, remembrance, and spiritual connection.

I cooked a square meter of eggplant parm quiche.
Unroll a sheet of puff pastry, spread some marinara sauce on the bottom, then add a layer of grilled eggplant, followed by a layer of provola cheese slices. Finally, top it off with a layer of cooked ham.
Seal it with another sheet of puff pastry.
After sealing, brush the top with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake at 165 °C (330 °F) for 60 minutes.

The season of the jackass on a maxi scooter has begun - usually a T-Max - who overtakes you with just a centimeter to spare, while in his head echoes the voice of Guido Meda shouting: "He ripped the stickers off his fairing!" and other such silly nonsense.

"On Melancholy Hill" by Gorillaz is a 2010 track that captures a deep sense of longing and nostalgia. Written by Damon Albarn, it paints the picture of an imaginary escape—somewhere peaceful to retreat to when the world feels overwhelming. The hill becomes a symbol of quiet reflection and emotional clarity. With its dreamy electronic sound and gentle melancholy, the song resonates as a heartfelt search for love and calm, and has remained a favorite for many fans.

23 years ago but it seems yesterday to me
“Take Me Out” grabs you immediately with its jagged guitar riff and kinetic post-punk bounce—a sonic adrenaline rush. That iconic tempo shift halfway through—from brisk, jittery verses to a sultry, disco-inflected chorus—reflects an emotional tug‑of‑war central to the song’s theme.
Alex Kapranos drew inspiration from the sniper standoff in "Enemy at the Gates", turning romantic tension into a high-stakes showdown: two people who want each other but resist acting first ([theguardian.com][2]).
Lyrically, “take me out” plays on dual meanings—both as an invitation to a romantic date and as a plea to be struck down—blending desire and danger ([singbetterenglish.wordpress.com][3]). Kapranos’s steady vocal delivery sits in stark contrast to the explosive instrumentation, creating a dramatic tension that never lets go.
The Dada‑inspired video reinforces this with surreal imagery and abrupt edits—visual chaos mirroring musical intensity .
The result: an indie rock anthem that's both irresistibly danceable and smartly layered. It’s no surprise it became a defining track of the 2000s—its blend of musical precision, lyrical ambiguity, and stylistic flair remains captivating two decades on.

If you don’t know who Brian Wilson was — a brilliant, visionary madman who once kept a piano on a bed of sand in his living room so he could play barefoot, feeling like he was at the beach — go listen to this track and look up The Beach Boys. They’re essential, foundational stuff.
Wilson, who recently passed away, was the musical architect behind some of the most intricate and emotionally resonant pop ever written. Pet Sounds alone influenced generations of artists, from The Beatles to today’s indie scene. His ability to blend symphonic complexity with sun-soaked harmonies was unmatched — a true original who heard music differently and showed us all what pop could be.

Ismaël Lô is a Senegalese singer and songwriter born in 1956 in Dogondoutchi, Niger, to a Senegalese father and a Nigerien mother. He grew up in Rufisque, near Dakar, and began his career in the 1970s.
Lô gained fame as a solo artist after leaving the group Super Diamono in the 1980s.
Known for his soft voice and mastery of the guitar and harmonica, he blends traditional Senegalese music with folk, pop, and mbalax influences.
One of his most famous songs is "Tajabone," released in 1990. Sung in Wolof, "Tajabone" is a gentle, emotional ballad about reflection, regret, and redemption. It refers to the Islamic celebration of Tajabone, where children parade in the streets. The song gained international recognition after being featured in Pedro Almodóvar's film All About My Mother (1999), introducing Lô's soulful sound to a global audience.

"Jump Around" by House of Pain was released in 1992 and became an instant hip-hop classic. Produced by DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill, the track is famous for its aggressive beat and piercing horn sample. 👆 🚀
Interestingly, the beat was originally offered to Ice Cube, who turned it down. DJ Muggs then gave it to House of Pain, where Everlast delivered high-energy, boastful lyrics that fired up listeners. 🕴️
Though initially overlooked by some labels, the song exploded in popularity through radio and clubs. It reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a sports arena staple. Today, it's remembered as House of Pain's defining anthem.

Originally released in 1969 on the Let It Bleed album, “Gimme Shelter” is widely regarded as one of the Rolling Stones’ most powerful and politically charged songs.
Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, it reflects the chaos and violence of the late 1960s, particularly the Vietnam War and civil unrest.
(History repeating?)🔥 🌍
In live performances from the late 1980s onward, the Stones added a dramatic twist to the song by featuring a powerful female vocalist to deliver the haunting solo originally sung by Merry Clayton on the studio version. Among those vocalists, Lisa Fischer stands out as the most iconic .🎸 🚀
Fischer, who toured with the Stones from 1989 to 2015, brought raw emotion and breathtaking vocal power to the live performances of “Gimme Shelter.” Her rendition of the famous “rape, murder—it’s just a shot away” lines often brought audiences to their feet and became a highlight of each concert.

The #RenaultR17 restomod by Ora-ïto (I’m a fan—I’ve got two Lacie Bricks tucked away in a drawer) is definitely eye-catching, but I can’t help wondering: why such a small screen, in such an awkward, flat position?
Personally, I would’ve preferred something less ashtray/retro-looking—bigger and vertically placed.
It’s just a prototype, so maybe things will improve if it ever goes into production… not that I could afford it anyway.
