All the convenience, none of the gatekeeping and privacy shenangians. Once you've put your shipping address in, which is stored locally on your device (no account, not even nostr!) making a purchase is just a matter of making a couple taps. Scan a Lightning QR to pay. More private since data will be stored locally. Less to remember since there are no accounts. More convenient since you don't have to enter credit card info or billing address -- just scan a QR code to pay with Lightning. No mobile app to get past gatekeepers -- it's a PWA you save to your device directly. We have the tech. Let's put it to use!

It appears a new approach for the web version of Google Maps is being tested for users not signed in: - no reviews show, only aggregate star rating - only business hours for the current day show - can't browse list of search results; when you click a result, the results list disappears This means the biggest store of critical, up-to-date information about local businesses around the globe is being closed off into an opaque black box.
