Chickens free ranging in olive groves lay great eggs, fertilise the soil, restore biodiversity and keep the cash flow. going when olives are on alternate fruiting
Foreign words out of context
Harshit Gangwar, a perfectly normal name in the country of a crypto exec, but on these shores it sounds like a gritty movie about a drug gang enforcer in a Trainspotting sequel .
Chevvy Nova was another unfortunate name when mentioned out of context. A popular car evoking galaxies and star travel raised eyebrows when launched in Latin America where it means Doesn't Go.
A Mexican paint brand, Durex, made me giggle.
I got a clip round the ear when I returned from a school trip to France with a bottle of soda and asked if anyone would like a glass of Pschitt.
And no World Cup football fan is going to forget the English speaking commentators' discomfort whenever someone passed the ball to Kuntz.
Any others?

A few months ago I was sent a few thousand sats by a Dev on nostr for helping them out. It seemed very generous, but a) it enabled me to zap sats regularly to useful and entertaining nostr users. And b) it encouraged me to put effort into Nostr.
I didn't really need a financial nudge because I believe in Nostr's potential but the sats boost was a neat thumbs up to me and also enabled me to participate practically in this environment.
Value 4 Value, it's the driver for releasing potential in a world hamstrung by lack of capital. Us non elite drive bottom up innovation and the more momentum we can get going, the sooner we can see change for the better.
My minimum zaps for interesting posts is set at 100, it's mad to send 1 sat or 10. That doesn't move the dial. And there's a token of appreciation and then there's like, really? Do you think in 2029 when BTC is 1m + that you are going to regret zapping sats in 2024? It's because we circulate sats now that BTC can be worth so many dollars in the future.
And after listening to a podcast from a podcaster delving into V4V, it makes sense to regularly send a decent amount to one or two podcasters rather than bits and bobs to many. If 100 listeners think like that, a podcaster could generate some income to motivate them and fund ways to improve their show.
I'm not one for listening to business oriented motivational podcasts, but Pat Bet-David really does throw out some gems that would help any budding entrepreneur along.
Good attitude gets your failings forgiven. That's a great observation. I can't remember the rest, sorry.
Studying pinstriping videos ahead of getting down to it for real. I always enjoyed doodling and I still have a steady hand, so why not doodle on someone's precious car or vintage motorbike.
Hollywood seems to predict everything, but searching for prescient movies about cbdc's nothing specific comes up. Just super surveilled society backdrops

Christmas Muzak in the café already. Tis the season of jolly commerce
Easy day today. Only had to re-design a crown, repair a camel hoof, tidy up a giant king and gild a pair of horns and a globe.
#Christmas is coming.
Talking with a writer self publishing a series of Scandic noir detective stories. Promoting her books with a website plus Instagram, selling through Amazon. It sounded so 1990.
I'm sure Nostr would serve her better.
Npubpro website, Nostr long form clients, social clients, and zaps direct to her wallet.
Simples.
I have great difficulty making sense of the German to English auto translations on Amethyst. A shame because it looks like German contributors have lots of good stuff to share, albeit mostly depressing.
Speaking to an 85 year old English woman today. She is furious with how the UK is in decline. No respect for elders, professionals, police. Parents abdicating responsibility for educating their kids who seem out of control - always on devices, watching ever more violent content, wanting everything now. No leaders prepared to get to the root of the problem, just offering short term solutions to superficial issues.
I suggested it is the culmination of wtf happened in 1971.
- declining food standards, which is documented as a tactic to hide inflation
- the out of control kids, many are ill from effects of long term high chemical loading, and poor diet. Glyphosate and autism rises coincide. Attention deficit coinciding with iPhone, other such "conspiracies"
- disenfranchised parents/the working poor, can't or don't always set the best examples.
- government agencies not necessarily working for the people's interests with pressure from the corporations offering the revolving doors for the political classes
- politicians who do introduce positive change only have 4-5 years to run with it before their work is undone. Meanwhile most politicians just work on 4-5 year cycles to get reelected or enriched, the people be damned.
- the disjointed on- the-ground thinking is stirred up further mixed by media to reduce resolve, distract, divide a society that if united might force change.
- and while society bumbles from one thought to another, the elites who run the 2% inflation game are testing the rewards of 70 years of resolve and consistency to get what they want.
Of course Bitcoin solves a lot of this, but being a bitcoiner sounds too easy! Except buying and holding bitcoin isn't easy, but it is peaceful, relative to the usual unthinkable option - pulling all the guilty parties out their beds in an act of revolution.
I doubt she will or even should worry about solutions, that's on her grandkids. They are the hope, assuming they are not physically, psychiatrically and emotionally impaired by a continuation of the status quo / managed decline.
Anything in there make sense @Erik Cason ?
Listening to primal 2.0 reminded me of where Nostr is heading. Having stretched my brain cells to integrate nostr features into Ghost, I'm thinking why bother? It's going to take me 18 months to build up the new site traffic, so its not like Im in a hurry.
Npubpro platform has all I need for hosting a website.
If there's a Nostr subscriptions option, Instead of €25 a month to ghost, I could pay that into Nostr ecosystem on top of a relay and media hosting etc.
#asknostr what's the nostr solution for newsletter subscriptions?
@brugeman nearly time to teleport my JSON file into a new Npubpro space :)
Are Bitcoin twitter's ready to remove their laser eyes at 100k?
Following bitcoin from afar the general view of Liquid has long been 'great tech but no global use case ".
I would bet a sat to a cent that the guy mentioned in the Bitcoin White Paper has been playing 4d chess based on the conviction of the inevitability of Bitcoin.
We are still very very early.
Sharpest insight this week was that people use social media apps for the community not the tech.
Going 100% on nostr is perhaps a good move for bitcoin and nostr Devs and influencers. But is this community open and big enough to support the growers, artists and makers? We shall see.
its getting fuzzy again for me with relays and permanent forever files kept on Nostr.
I'm seeing relay delete options, and just read a file server opo deletes files once you stop paying. On the other hand, the story is Nostr forever, someone somewhere will always be able to serve up your content.
are there different ways of uploading media to nostr so some is permanent and others not so?
I'ts late, I don't know, I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering how a company on Nostr can go out of business but the content somehow is there for someone else to run with... Is it beholden on us to make a copy of every URL?
Do I need to run a relay for it to become obvious how it all works?
