The problem of violence is very hard to solve. The modern way has been centralizing authority, who can then monopolize the violence and abuse that authority. But the traditional way was to use decentralized justice, where revenge and tit-for-tat would eventually get people to game-theory optimal morals. Like it or not, the traditional way is what we're doing here in both Bitcoin and Nostr.
