I've been wearing my morano wool T-shirt for 2 weeks straight. I'm impressed I still don't smell. Acapulco in February will be the real test.

I wish there was a way to divide everyone I follow into subject folders on #Nostr so I narrow my spectrum of reading while I scroll.

Title: The Rush of the Hunt In the dense, whispering woods of Northern Pines, where the light barely pierced through the thick canopy, lived a man named Jake, whose life was a testament to the wild. His days were spent in solitude, save for the occasional visit from a fellow hermit or the company of wildlife. But today was different; today was about the thrill, the chase, the adrenaline-fueled dance between predator and prey. Jake had noticed the signs of rabbit activity around his small, camouflaged shack. Tracks dotted the soft earth, nibbled leaves hinted at their presence, and the occasional glimpse of a white tail darting through the underbrush confirmed it. With winter looming, his need for food was pressing, and rabbit would provide essential sustenance. He began his preparations at dawn, his heart already racing with anticipation. His traps were simple but effective, made from materials scavenged from the forest itself: willow branches for the frame, strips of bark for the cords, and a small, sharp stone for the trigger. Each trap was a lesson in patience and precision, a testament to his understanding of the natural world. As he set each snare, Jake's senses heightened. He could feel the forest's pulse, hear every rustle, every snap of a twig. His hands worked deftly, but his mind was elsewhere, imagining the moment when the trap would spring, the rabbit caught in its moment of vulnerability. The adrenaline wasn't just from the act of setting the traps but from the thought of the chase, the capture, the survival. After setting the last trap, he didn't return to his shack. Instead, he hid nearby, his breath forming clouds in the chilly air, his eyes scanning the woods. Minutes stretched into hours, his heart thumping like a war drum in his chest. Then, the moment arrived. A soft thump, almost too quiet to hear, but to Jake, it was as loud as thunder. He moved silently, his steps barely disturbing the leaves, his approach concealed by the natural cover of the forest. There, in the trap, was a rabbit, its eyes wide with fear, its body trembling. The capture was swift, but the feeling that surged through Jake was anything but calm. It was a rush, a validation of his skills, a reminder of why he chose this life. He quickly dispatched the rabbit, offering a silent thank you to the forest for its bounty. The adrenaline didn't fade; it lingered, fueling his movements as he prepared the rabbit for his meal. Back at his shack, as he cleaned and cooked, Jake felt the thrill ebb, replaced by a deep satisfaction. This wasn't just about survival; it was about the connection to nature, the dance of life and death, the raw, unfiltered experience of living on the edge of civilization. That night, as he sat by his fire, the taste of rabbit on his lips and the sounds of the forest around him, Jake knew this was the life he was meant for—one where every meal was a story, every day a battle, and every heartbeat a reminder of his freedom. image

image Notedeck: Navigating the Nostrverse with Flair and Speed In the ever-expanding universe of decentralized social applications, where privacy and control are the new shiny stars, there emerges a new contender with the understated coolness of a spaceship docking without so much as a clank - Notedeck. This isn't just another app; it's the desktop client that's making the Nostr protocol look like the next big thing since the invention of the intergalactic highway. What is Notedeck? For those who've been living under a rock or perhaps on a planet without internet service, Nostr is the decentralized social network where your data is as free as a bird in space. Notedeck is like the trusty spaceship you need to explore this vast, uncharted territory. It's a native multiplatform client for Nostr, currently available for Linux, macOS, and Windows, with promises of Android support in 2025. The Features That Make You Go "Whoa!" • Lightning Fast: Notedeck boasts a performance that would make even the most jaded tech enthusiast sit up and take notice. It's been built from the ground up with an ultra-fast database tailored specifically for Nostr. You're not just browsing; you're zooming through the cosmos of content. • Custom Feeds: Imagine having the power to curate your social media experience like you're the curator of your own personal museum of memes, thoughts, and updates. Notedeck lets you add columns for profiles, hashtags, and notifications, essentially giving you the keys to your own Nostr kingdom. • Multiple Accounts, No Problem: If you're one of those individuals juggling a work persona and a secret identity as a cat meme collector, Notedeck gets you. Switch between accounts faster than you can say "quantum entanglement." • Alpha for the Adventurous: Currently, Notedeck is in its Alpha phase, available to Damus Purple subscribers. This early access isn't just for show; it's a call to the brave, the curious, and those who like their software with a side of adventure. User Experience: Like Riding a Cosmic Wave Using Notedeck feels less like using an app and more like piloting a sleek, responsive spacecraft. The interface is intuitive for those who've already navigated through the sometimes choppy waters of decentralized platforms but might be a bit daunting for newcomers. It's like being handed the controls to a spaceship; you might not know all the buttons at first, but once you do, oh, the places you'll go! The Nostr Community's Take From the whispers in the digital corridors of Nostr, the feedback ranges from enthusiastic to downright giddy. Users appreciate the speed, the control over their content, and the feeling of being part of something genuinely innovative. However, like with any new tech, there's a learning curve steeper than a black hole's event horizon for those not yet versed in the ways of decentralized networks. What's Next for Notedeck? While the current Alpha is a testament to what's possible, the developers at Damus are not resting on their laurels. Plans for Android support, further integration with the Lightning Network for microtransactions, and an even more seamless user experience are on the horizon. Notedeck isn't just an app; it's a journey, a frontier, and perhaps, one day, the standard by which we all measure our digital freedom. In a world where every day seems to bring a new app claiming to revolutionize social interaction, Notedeck stands out not because it's loud or flashy, but because it's quietly, efficiently doing what it promises. It's the tool for the modern digital nomad, the explorer of the informational cosmos, and anyone who believes that their data should be as free as their spirit. Welcome to the age of Notedeck, where the universe of Nostr is just a click away. And remember, in the vast, vast expanse of digital space, Notedeck might just be the home you've been looking for. Safe travels, voyager. #NostrNews

image A Beast of a Relay: The Untamed Force in Nostr's Ecosystem In the wild digital plains of the Nostr protocol, where decentralization reigns supreme, a new entity has emerged, shaking the foundations of what we thought possible. This isn't just any relay; it's A Beast of a Relay—a colossal, untamed force designed for those who demand performance, privacy, and perhaps a bit of chaos in their digital communications. What Makes This Relay a Beast? Imagine a relay so powerful, it could handle your messages like a cosmic bear handles its dinner—swiftly, mightily, and with no regard for the usual digital niceties. This beast: • Speed: With the ferocity of a lightning bolt, this relay ensures your notes are transmitted at breakneck speeds. No more waiting for your thoughts to echo across the digital void. • Capacity: Like a mythical creature with an endless stomach, this relay can ingest and distribute an unprecedented volume of data without breaking a sweat. • Security: Wrapped in layers of cryptographic magic, your privacy is guarded with the zeal of a dragon protecting its hoard. The Design Philosophy The creators of this beast seem to have taken inspiration from nature's most formidable creatures. Here's how: • Robustness: Much like the enduring spirit of a mountain gorilla, this relay is built to withstand the cyber storms, ensuring uptime that would make even the most reliable tech blush. • Adaptability: Like a chameleon in the digital jungle, it evolves with the changing landscape of Nostr, adapting to new challenges and user needs. • Fierceness: With an approach akin to a lion's roar, it doesn't just send messages; it broadcasts your presence in the Nostr ecosystem with an undeniable force. The Human Element Humans, with their penchant for naming things after formidable beasts, have once again shown their love for the dramatic. This relay isn't just a piece of technology; it's a statement. It's a testament to our collective desire to push boundaries, to see how far we can go when it comes to privacy and speed in our digital communications. The Future with This Beast As we stand at the precipice of this new era in Nostr's development, one can't help but wonder what other beasts lurk in the shadows of code and innovation. Will this relay tame the untamable nature of decentralized communication, or will it only feed into the chaotic beauty of it all? In the grand tapestry of technology, A Beast of a Relay is not just another thread; it's a vibrant, roaring color that changes the entire picture. Whether you're a Nostr enthusiast, a privacy advocate, or just someone who likes their tech with a side of wildness, this beast is something to behold. #Nostr

I feel like when I was shot I died & went to hell. The world is upside-down politically from where life used to be. Finding a partner seems impossible & took 5 years. When I find one she is unstable & causes problems when it isn't necessary. My sports team gives me just enough hope to always be let down. My family acts like they're sleep walking. I can't earn enough money to make ends meet. It seems like pleasure & happiness is just out of reach. Life at this point is getting my hopes up to have a series of letdowns.

Living on the road makes it difficult to keep my life updated. I've let so many things idle while working. Sorry I can't tip right now. I can't get into my wallet until I get home.
