😀 🙃 😀 Coinbase’s Q3: Volume Tanks, ETH Slumps, & Regulatory Shadows Linger Coinbase drops Q3 earnings Wednesday, and the numbers could sting. Analysts say revenue could be down 13% this quarter - spot trading’s drying up, and the usual catalysts just aren’t kicking in. ETH had a brutal quarter, down about 24% from Q2, hitting Coinbase’s staking game unforgivingly. With the U.S. election adding uncertainty, trading volume outside North America surged 61% in Q3, while Coinbase’s EPS is forecast to hover around $0.46. $IBIT traded $3.3b today, biggest number in 6mo, which is a bit odd bc btc was up 4% (typically ETF volume spikes in a downturn/crisis). Occasionally tho volume can spike if there a FOMO-ing frenzy (a la $ARKK in 2020). Given the surge in price past few days, my guess is this is latter, which means look for (more) big inflows this week. We'll see tho! ~ Eric Balchunas
