Amiti, 10x your productivity reminded me of the Pomadoro Technique I teach my high school students. Basically you remove all distractions and work for a set period of time (45 minutes usually) on a specific task then you have to take a 5 minute break. If you do 3 rounds of this you then have to take a longer 30 minute break and eat.

I struggle with the juxtaposition of, « we need to touch grass and embrace low time preference activities such as growing some of our own food and cooking for ourselves… » and « AI and UBI are going to create a generation of depressed couch potato gamers ». Maybe we are being trapped by some cognitive loop to believe since people who work 40+ hours a week at desks doing mundane, pusposeless jobs binge watch Netflix and eat poorly that if they were afforded the humanity of a true Universal Basic Income they would further spiral rather than rest.

This reminds me of the first book I read on blockchains « The Truth Machine ». Always building your reputation, still as anonymous as you choose, and your reputation still has value. Way down the line, but could you imagine a « sorry » button? And a « forgiven » button? Seems people either say nothing for fear of becoming a meme, or hide behind burner accounts, and have no guard rails. Wouldn’t it be nice to feel you could fuck up and make amends?
