Went to do a soil evaluation in a new area for me, and had to do a little exploring on the way back home. Never know what you'll find on random Missouri backroads. I don't know what the story is behind this place but somebody back in the day moved an impressive amount of rock. Alright Nostr, let's have a discussion about the current state of the lightning network. My question is this: What is the threshold that you are comfortable transacting over the lightning network? In other words, at what dollar amount do you say no to lightning and transact on-chain instead? I send zaps and other micro-payments on a daily basis and everything works great. I'm perfectly confident using lightning for daily, mundane amounts, but how much is too much? If I sell someone a side of beef and need to accept payment over $1000 in value, does lightning have the necessary liquidity for that transaction, or should that amount be sent on-chain despite the high fees? I'd especially like to hear from those who run their own lightning node and other vendors who use lightning for point of sale. #bitcoin #lightning #paralleleconomy

Had some spare time this afternoon for a short ruck through the woods. Spent the holiday weekend 95% offline, and it was glorious. Church on Sunday and Decoration at the cemetery, then had family and some friends at our pond for some fishing and outdoor cooking. Then two busy days to get things done in this short week, so minimal down time for Nostr. My proof of work for today. Small covered bridge over the pond outflow. The frame is some old scaffolding the previous owner left on my property. My original plan was to cut it off flush and just have a walkway, but the idea for a covered bridge popped into my head. All reclaimed scrap lumber and metal.
