Something that confounds me about the US heading into full nanny state territory:
What good is a surveillance state when people can still be stabbed for trying to stand up for someone getting harrassed? Especially in a country where jails are so full that people are regularly given slaps onwrists, or future court dates in packed schedules, and then let free?

The pen I used for this one, a stiff flex nib I'm trying to domesticate. It's way easier to flex if I utilize my finger muscles, but as a shoulder muscle user it's a challenge, and I end up with an achy wrist

The sorts of things I read have rotted my story building capabilities, so I find it quite difficult to write J&C's story linearly. It's tempting to just think up isolated slice of life scenes. The first draft had them meeting at a diner, second draft had J being pushed out of a plane and meeting C at his middle of the forest hermit shack...
