Orange-pilled a young Uber driver today. He realised himself that putting fiat away, even into a savings account, was like staying in the same place and actually more like going backwards. Watching the penny drop was fun.

One of our leading exchanges here, Valr, just announced a partnership with Visa. This is after they announced parterning with a big retailer to use their internal payment solution, not Lightning. I guess we should know that exchanges aren't here to help realise a Bitcoin standard, only rentseek and enable status quo. Exchanges are going to become like banks and payment switches for the existing Visa economy, and your Bitcoin balance is just a database entry and a fiat value you're allowed to draw down on. Sad. Get your Bitcoin off of exchanges, and orange pill your favourite merchants!

Think we need to put a #bitcoin node onto a spacecraft and yeet that thing to outer space, just in case

My banking app is now encouraging me to use it to book doctors appointments. Feels like all the big companies and banks here are starting to realise there's a race on to create an "everything" app before someone else does

Spotify doesn't recognise when I've broken up with a song. Like "People you might know", I'm haunted by songs I used to like. Un-liking a song needs to be taken seriously.

Interesting that Microsoft is trying to cram AI tools into SwiftKey. I guess the world of tech has a "portal discovery" problem. In order to use some tech you have to have an app, a website, a phone, a keyboard in this case, something that users find you with, otherwise how do they even know it exists? And then that functionality is captured by that third party. Data and technology should be universally available and "portal" agnostic, no capture. Bitcoin and Nostr achieve this - no fixed clients, but consistent rules and technology working in the background. Eventually this type of thinking needs to find it's way into the kernel of devices.

Love how Google has to cram diversity into every frame of their keynote, but doesn't ship anywhere in Africa. #MadeByGoogle #Pixel #Google

Would appreciate it if you all stop making any #bitcoin transactions until the mempool clears. Thanks!
