Shitcoin and suitcoin creep are both part of the cultural erosion of Bitcoin. If those interest becomes the "majority of Bitcoin", then that is what Bitcoin is, and it will probably never change back. Keeping the flame alive is the attempt to hold back the dilution of the principles and ethos of Bitcoin, and solidify the base layer before it can be eroded away by greed and grift. Reducing "Bitcoin usecases" is not just about reducing the cost to run a node. I think the most important part is to make Bitcoin as simple and close to perfect money as possible. This should make intuitive sense. We want as few malincentives as possible, as little bloat as possible, and as few unknown unknown as possible. As I wrote in this post years ago: The difference between 100% corruption resistance and 99.9% corruption resistance is *complete erosion*
