Meme warfare. Bitcoin apologist.
GM☕ Bitcoin was made as simple as possible so that it could be as independent and orthogonal to misaligned incentives as possible. If Bitcoin is gonna be a 1000 year project (otherwise it's thermodynamic properties and scarcity is just a larp), then I believe that simplicity must reach some sort of escape velocity, entrenchment or ossification to resist bloat and corruption in future generations. Even with as simple as Bitcoin is, and even with a still strong Bitcoin culture, it seems like it's still at the whims of competing incentives, narratives and politics. I mean, if bitcoiners are gonna be complacent or swayed, or psyopped today, then what about in 10 years? 100years? We say Bitcoin wins because of the incentives. But what if competing incentives are stronger on shorter time frames? What if people don't really understand the incentives? What if people don't really understand Bitcoin? Will they then make the right decisions "for Bitcoin"? I think Ross had a very astute point that we need a few good ideas to rally around. He said, freedom , decentralization and unity. Those are just words, not code. But to sortof transfer the meaning to the code, and wrap up with some conclusion to this rambling, I think we really need to value simplicity and keeping Bitcoin as singular as possible in its purpose. To be Money. Have a great week.✌ image

I rode the gaming wave, all the way from commodore 64, to street fighter, to mario kart, to goldeneye, to quake, to starcraft seeing stadiums full of people going crazy over the first major esport. I rode the online poker wave, living the wild west of money on the internet, and becominy financially independent in college. And now for the last 4 years I've been riding the Bitcoin and AI wave. Basically, I've lived much of my life through the computer. But over the last 10 years I also rode the health and fitness wave. And year by year I'm more and more coming to the understanding that the computer and how your body interacts with it, is really not condusive to health and happiness. It's like I'm doing withdrawals from my health account every time I sit down in front of the computer. And then, to get the balance back up, I go jump in the ocean, get my bare feet on the ground, feel the wind, go in the sauna, watch the sunset. So it is a little bit weird. Because I have so many good memories, notalgia and love for the computer, and it's still a tool I enjoy using. But at the same time, it's something I'm more and more am trying to get away from. I dunno, just some Sunday musings. image
