Meme warfare. Bitcoin apologist.
I always come back to this post by Cedric Youngelman: image It felt like foreshadowing then, and it's gradually going in that direction now. As you become a master of yourself, more and more you will become the giver. And to many of them gracefully so, as they did very little to support you. image
I wanna give a shoutout to @Samson Mow for his appearance on Mark Moss' pod, discussing some of the key aspects of the spam debate. Many I think, including me, feel that there is a social and SoMe engagement penalty for giving too frank takes on Core and the spam debate. As an influencer it seems more in your self interest (in terms of engagement and standing in the Bitcoin influencer network) to remain neutral or passively signal Core support. Therefore I think it is very commendable when large accounts risk alienating some of their followers or network to give their honest opinion, and be true to what they think is best for Bitcoin. Also I thought the points shared in the episode were very fair, non-divisive, while still getting to the heart of the most important, high level issues, like: - Balance of power in Bitcoin development is good - Do no harm principle - Censorship resitance is meant for monetary transaction - Some spam mitigation is better than no spam mitigation - Directionally we should want to fight spam, not enable it
