I had a great experience today:
The rear end of my car had loosened after an accident, some small breaks in it, and some wires were sticking out.
I tried to get under the car and see if I could fix it, but quickly realized I had to go to the repair shop.
But then you meet the modern economy and fiat incentives:
Margins are razor-thin, and to be able to keep up with the money printer, they have to spend as LITTLE TIME as possible to deal with you, and then MAXIMIZE ALL THE SHIT to upsell you on.
So you have to call the support line which fights tooth and nail to avoid you talking to the people who can actuallly help you, and then to try to get you into their pipeline of booking an oppointment through their automated system, which of course they charge for.
I managed to get in contact with the repair shop directly and said I can come in right now (not booking appointment).
My car is pretty REKT already (obviously, stacking sats), so I really wanted to avoid changing the whole backend if I could avoid it, and just attach it again with some minor damage.
But I needed a small assesment to figure this out, and then of course I was prepared to pay for the job.
Turns out, this cool dude at the repair shop just fixed up it for me..... 20 mins, FREE OF CHARGE 🤯🤯
I wanted to give him some money, but realized that wasn't really the vibe, he just said, "that's cool, just come here the next time you need anything done", and I gave him a huge thank you.
Point to all this:
I think most people in reality are pretty cool and want to be helpful, but are today stuck in jobs and systems that are robotic, predatory , and dehumanizing.
