Shogun's Ninja was a great film! It's entertaining throughout, like a gem you find in a Blu-ray bin. The cast of characters was strong, too. Okyo was probably my favorite character. There were surprisingly more casualties on the "good side" than I was expecting. I wonder if it will be released physically over here in America. #Filmstr

Blackfox: Age of the Ninja was fun. It definitely evoked sense of nostalgia for watching old kung fu VHS tapes as a kid. The cheesy English dub did help with that. I was surprised by how fast-paced the movie was, and before I knew it, it was already over. Did feel disappointed the enemies didn't really have any cool techniques like Rikka's nine tailed hurricane. It's definitely a movie to watch with friends and have a good time. #Filmstr

The ominous music in the latest episode of The Lenticulars makes me feel like I'm not watching ing the show correctly. Perhaps the music is related to the B episodes, and this scene will make more sense when they air? Only time will tell. #Animestr

I decided to read Magical Girl Dandelion. I'm not usually into shojo, but after reading an interview with the artist who mentioned that her art is sort of shonen-esque, I decided to give it a shot. It's a fun read, and I'm enjoying all the characters so far. The art is impressive, especially the dynamism of Dandelion's attacks. Of course, I enjoyed the movie arc the most so far. I'm definitely going to try to keep up with it. #Mangastr

The nominees for the Video Game Awards are out! Looking at the list this year seems pretty good for gaming as a whole. It took alot longer to vote this year for some reason. Either the site is buggy or a lot more people are voting this year than previously....I doubt that so it's probably the site just being buggy. Surprisingly Call of Duty got zero nominations which does put a smile on my face. Hopefully this is a wake up call to Activision that things do need changing. I'm hoping Clair Obscur wins so we have another Astrobot situation of telling the industry "Yes, we do like these kind of games. How about making some!" #Gamestr #TheGameAwards

The Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy beta is over, and the game is pretty fun. The gameplay loop is exciting, making it perfect for commutes. I can see myself playing it while traveling or waiting for a table at a restaurant. Thankfully it does have a sudo pve only mode where you can grind for medals to help flesh out your build. I mainly played as Cloud and Krile. Cloud is definitely easy to get the hang of, and with a good build, he can do an insane amount of damage. One Omnislash could basically one-shot a boss if you time your limits with your teammates correctly. Instead of focusing on grinding brave to give to your teammates so they can damage the boss faster, Krile offered a different play style. I was surprised by how fun it was, but the selection of support skills that buff allies was lacking. Healing is good, but I would definitely play support more if I could also buff my allies' movement speed. #Gamestr

State of Play Japan was an okay show. It started off strong, but petered out towards the end without a mic drop announcement. It was also surprisingly DLC-heavy. The Japanese-only PS5 is an interesting announcement, but it's strange that the Pro didn't get one since, in yen, it costs around $1,000. I feel like it should have gotten the reduced price; I don't believe people would import a cheap base PS5. These are the games that piqued my interest the most. Also, the Tokon beta is back, which makes me think there will be a new character trailer at The Game Awards. #Gamestr

Sony announced for tomorrow a State of Play exclusively about games made in Asia. This could be when all the copium hits pay off with updates about Kingdom Hearts 4, Unending Dawn, the rumored Final Fantasy IX remake, or maybe the fabled Bloodborne remaster. It's exciting to see PlayStation focusing on japanese games since the current state of the western game industry seems bleak at best. I do hope that this does kick start regional State of Plays instead of the usual content. It would definitely help differentiate PlayStation from the typical "direct" format if every couple of months there was a State of Play America, Europe, Africa, etc. Sadly missed a opportunity to not call this the State of Playisa! ಠ⁠ᴥ⁠ಠ #Gamestr

Didn't take long for Pommu to get raided. Once it was started to reported on in English it was only a matter of time until the trolls flooded the site with gay and Nazi coal. The idea of an Otakus alternative to Twitter sounds good in theory but it would probably need to be domestic only for the beta before allowing all regions to join. Just so the team has enough time to get mute and word filtering set up in preparation for the trolls.
