The ruins of Kirkstall Abbey near Leeds drive home just how new everything is in America. When our oldest existing building was constructed, the abbey was already 500 years old. 
Ok, this is weird. One of the few pictures ever taken of Billy the Kid, is this recently discovered one of him playing croquet. 
I couldn't take this picture today. One of the hurricanes from the last decade flooded this bond and wiped out the dam.

One day I got a call from an NBC reporter informing me that I'd been on an FBI surveillance list for my sins against the Bush administration.
I just bought "good monitors" for the first time to replace 10-year old recycled Dell displays. In the past 24 hours I've learned the importance of the appropriate cables and adapters needed in order to get the advertised capabilities out of them and why using the display port is superior to HDMI.
The Rockefeller family owned a good-sized chuck of land nearby. Part of it was a working farm and part was a retreat where they fished, went deer hunting and played golf on a private course. About a generation ago, they sold most of it to the Army. The rest is this state park.

This is so true. I've had to go through the "getting to know you" phase with all 13 grandkids and EVERY one of them played this game.
