Parfois, une pièce me résiste. Celle-ci m’oblige à vraiment pratiquer l’art du lâcher-prise — à accepter ce que la terre et le feu choisissent de faire, même si ce n’est pas ce que j’avais prévu. C’est dur pour mon besoin de contrôle, mais c’est aussi exactement pourquoi je travaille la céramique. Sometimes a piece pushes back. This one really made me practice the art of letting go — accepting what the clay and fire chose to become, even if it wasn’t what I had in mind. It challenges my need for control, but that’s exactly why I work with ceramics.
