Thomas Sowell: A Free Man - Uncommon Knowledge Peter Robinson What do you make of the United States? What’s your summary statement on this country? Dr. Thomas Sowell Well, ah, like all other human societies it was not perfect, but if you compare it not to the perfection or an ideal, but to the other countries it’s hard find another one that can match it. #ThomasSowell

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In other words, give the government back what is theirs. “Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax to Caesar or not?” But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?” “Caesar’s,” they replied. Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.” ‭‭ Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭17‬-‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“5“ Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteriesa wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others. 8“ But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11The greatest among you will be your servant. 12For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Matthew 23: 5-12 — NIV, Student Bible by Zondervan https://a.co/gdPnFT3

Nothing stops this train… When people or a society do not understand scarcity…. No need to make a choice on how to spend your time (wisely or unwisely) or what you exchange your time for (money/fiat) when you have a limitless amount of both. It’s only when you have scarcity when you’re able to make the best choice possible. A government or an individual with the the ability to print money limitlessly cannot, will not ever behave efficiently. It’s not scientifically possible.
