A leopard visited him at the banquet table, its jaws and claws extending. Tamed and untamed its nature be, danger in its extreme decadence. An affluent Bourgeois pet, spotted white and blonde. It sent the warning to the man of a vicious capacity for death, but retreated non the less. He wore the fur of a white leopard himself, confusing and bemusing the pet. Stirring its nature. Soon a white tiger appeared to follow his feline friend’s performance, and so a hasty retreat ensued by the man from the banquet hall. Climbing a wall he arrived at an ethereal digital roof top, mingled with non human geometric beings. Before this a concert had ensued with falsely advertised seating, that was still fair, but not the best. Never stop 😴 dreaming.
β€œGet off the road!” He called as a large vehicle was coming around the bend…pulling something. Soon it emerged. The frame for a hulking church. Pulled by 4 to 6 giant horses in coloured jackets. A man and women drove them in the front with just their voices. Calling their names one by one, getting the team to each inch forward torque and power to ease the structure forward slowly, controlled, with horse power. One horse in a red jacket spooked a bit and skirted nervously. β€œEh! Dobson!” From the driver was enough to get it back into line. Soon the task was complete, the church was in place upon its foundation, and a great sigh of relief went up from both beast and man. And then the fun began, the horses untethered and free with joy at the sunrise leapt into a speedy run with the mounted gang men into a frolicking race. Joy, joy! Speed and joy! As the sun rises! They ran. Have Beutiful dreams.
The seeds of Bitcoin were planted long ago by Time-stamping Giants. I'm reviewing the citations satoshi references in the whitepaper, starting with how to timestamp a digital document. some relevant text from this paper related to bitcoin is in the attached picture. Fun to see these early hints. image
"Time's glory is to calm contending kings, To unmask falsehood, and bring truth to light, To stamp the seal of time in aged things, T o wake the morn, and sentinel the night, To wrong the wronger till he render right." The Timestamping Cypherpunks we always β‚Ώased. image
Cypherpunk legends Whitfield Diffie, Martin Hellman, and Ralph C Merkle revolutionized the field of cryptography in the 1970s by introducing the concept of public-key cryptography, The bedrock of Bitcoin today. image
I got this unopened in it's original packaging today, 1st edition 2005 Print of "Encyclopedia of Cryptography and Security" This was likely the book that inspired Satoshi's understanding of Timestamp Servers and Bitcoin... more to come on that eventually. image
Fun fact, "Block Chain" was coined by Hal Finney in a response to Satoshi on the Cryptography Mailing List. Satoshi liked the term so much, he modified the code notes of the Bitcoin v0.1 client, swapping all mentions of "Timechain" for "Block Chain" (except for one Timechain comment).
There's reasonable and unreasonable positions on Both sides of the spam debate-discourse. There's more incongruence in the pro-spam rhetoric. There's more slander of characters in the anti-spam camp. But a lot of that is well earned. Some of it isn't.
