The #GitCitadel team is pleased to announce version 0.0.6 of Alexandria, now live on next-alexandria.gitcitadel.eu! This release features a UI overhaul, courtesy of our illustrious frontend developer @npub1636u...qpl4. Notably, the main site menu has been moved into an expandable menu, reducing clutter and making links easier to find. image You'll also notice a fresher and more consistent look to our UI components! That's because Nusa has begun creating a Svelte component library for use within our project. It's documented for AI, so we'll be able to efficiently create consistent, beautiful UIs as we dream up new features. You can see some of the fresh UI components on a publication: image Finally, be sure to check out our Notifications view, which you can reach by logging in and clicking on your profile picture, then clicking on "Notifications". You can view and respond to Nostr notes of _any kind_, and you can see public message threads. Alexandria is one of the first Nostr clients to support public messages. image Thank you to all of our supporters! We're continuing to work on the app behind the scenes, so expect more updates Soon!

Has anyone considered making an ephemeral-message relay based on Redis/Valkey? I could see it being a good data store architecture for large group chats, message passing servers, and other applications that require only transient storage of notes.

I just discovered a kind 30023 long-form article via Alexandria's topical search, skimmed it within Alexandria, and then microblogged about it, also from within Alexandria. It's starting to become a complete Nostr app, y'all.

Every so often I'm up late jamming on #Alexandria, then @Silberengel wakes up over in Germany, logs onto our OneDev server, sees my commits rolling in, and drops the ol' ๐Ÿฟ I'm not used to programming with an audience.

Just hatched an idea with @Silberengel this morning. TheForest relay has a pubkey now. Check it out: https://next-alexandria.gitcitadel.eu/events?id=npub1229y50ruvq9hjdxsjknh43gq4n9ef7h3h5hc4ezzrkg0q7kgg0tsv9a402 This is inspired by @npub149p5...722q's communikeys. If a user can have a NIP-05 address that verifies the npub and specifies that user's preferred relays, why can't a community do the same? Your relay-based community can have a NIP-05 address that specifies which relays that community uses. We've got plans for this in #Alexandria, but other devs might find the idea useful as well.

Bro who tf decided that โœจ would be the universal symbol for AI? And why did we all just go along with it? That choice of symbol by itself undermines general understand of how AI actually works. "Oh look it sparkles! It must be magic! Let me turn my brain off and blindly trust whatever it says!" Try ๐Ÿค– instead, or something
