Got up really early this morning and went for a walk. My usual round takes up to a local catholic cemetery and back. I have been there many times but this morning I felt the need to take a photo of this old rusty yet very intricate cross. Here's a picture of the "cold chili" I made the other day. People compare it to "cowboy caviar" which I hadn't heard of previously but I guess it's true. @TheGrinder - not sure if I replied to you, sorry if this is double. Yes, it has all the ingredients of a regular chili, I didn't add any meat though, you just don't cook anything, instead you let it marinate for a bit before you mix it all together. TBH I liked it even better the next day 😍 #foodstr #chili

Here’s a view of California different from yesterday’s coastline photo I shared. A watercolor painting I did off a photo I took. While we were there we drove up Mt. Diablo one late afternoon. It is 3,849 ft (1,173 m) high but it was anything but cooler up there - it was hot. The views - 360° - are well worth it, they’re magnificent and the drive was fun, reminded me of the winding curves in the Alps.

There are two rolls missing. They disappeared in our tummies this morning during breakfast. They were the best breakfast sourdough ciabattas I have made yet, fluffy, yet crusty and substantial, straight out of the oven and on to the table. YUM! A great start to the day. #foodstr #sourdough #bread

Here is another painting I finally finished yesterday. Not entirely happy with it. Not my best. Not my worst. I was in the mood to using a few different watercolor techniques in this one: - a wash gradient from yellow to red to blue and green with - drips on the top and bottom edges - salt crystals in green for (grassy) texture - lifting off color in the (sunset) sky - painting the tree and using a straw to blow paint away from it to form the branches - adding more details with ink on the tree Then it was enough, and I called it done.
