Electricity/Power Utilities are more entrenched, corrupt, and wasteful than most elected governments but unless you work with them you would not know. In regulated states where they are granted a monopoly, they are normally the top or in the top 3 of lobbying funding. It’s gross and wish more people understood, but it’s really just incentives playing out over time. We need to have more market competition (ignore the lobbyists telling you the grid will fail without the utilities keeping their monopoly). I expect electricity prices to play a significant factor for inflation going forward, since new power plants are needing to be built for first time in decades due to demand. NGU.

Distributed Solar & Batteries are how we start to decentralize the grid. Monopolistic utilities are a lot of times worse than governments, in terms of corruption.

The market has spoken. And if you are thinking this is due to “subsidies” then you need to learn how electricity markets operate. (All electricity is “subsidized” and intermittent sources the least of which, and most of those $ now go to Fortune 500, lawyers, and accounts to facilitate it.)
