In my work, I am always trying to put myself in my clients' shoes. I am of no special importance - I am simply here to point to something truly invaluable: a way of working with your mind that is completely different from how humans have operated for millennia.
One powerful shift you can make is what I call the "movie projector trick." It helps you realise that you happen to the world, rather than the world happening to you.Imagine you are watching a movie in the cinema and you notice a flickering hair on the screen.
You do not walk up to the screen and try to scrub it off. You realise it is just a projection, so you go back to the projector and inspect the film itself.
Once you find and clear the glitch in the film, you can settle back in and become lost in the movie again.Your reality works the same way.I recently had a client who was stuck in a frustrating cycle: no matter what he did, he always ended up making roughly the same amount of money.
He would launch new products, see a temporary bump in revenue, and then it would drop back to the previous level.When he described his situation, we went to the whiteboard and mapped it out, searching for the glitch - not in his business strategy, but in the "film" running in his mind.
A particular old movie was playing the same story about his business and money. Once we cleared that glitch, the movie changed.He later sent me a note saying his business was booming. Other areas of his life began to shift as well.
These "hamster wheel" programs that run in the background have their fingers in every part of our lives, and they do not like change.But the more you become aware of them and watch them, the more they dissolve - allowing the real you to come through.

I watched my daughter dance this morning.
She was spinning around the kitchen, lost in her own world. And there I was, physically present, but mentally, my mind had caught my attention.
One of my "hamster wheels" had caught my attention without me noticing. Some thought, some worry, some phantom urgency pulled me away from the only thing that actually mattered: my child, right in front of me.
This is what most of us don't understand about attention. You're not choosing where it goes. Old survival programmes are. They were built by a younger version of you trying to stay safe, and they've been running on autopilot ever since.
The result? We reach 50, 60, 80 and realize we spent our lives focused on things that weren't truly valuable to us.
Social media has made this worse. It's literally engineered to feed your hamster wheels.
Here's what actually works: Watch where your energy goes. Notice which wheel is spinning.
Understand that the programme is not you. It's a defense mechanism from a child who no longer needs it.
When you see it clearly, something shifts. The grip loosens.
And you come back. To the room. To the person in front of you. To your actual life.

Any situation in your life where you are not happy with the result is being run by an internal hamster wheel.
On that deepest level, the wheel programming is trying to keep you safe. Like a super sophisticated defence system.
Let's say you want more clients in your business and it's bothering you.
When you go within, admin mode, and start to really watch the thoughts around the lack of clients… you will find one wheel that is really running the show.
You may feel unable to find new clients. Or feel scared you will be unable to pay the bills. The Able/Unable wheel.
Or you may think what you are doing is not good enough. The Right/Wrong wheel.
Could be simply the Gain/Loss wheel.
Or maybe underneath it all you are feeling unable because you need to get people to pay attention to you and that bothers you. The Attention/Ignore wheel. Deep down you don't feel "worth" it.
When you dig down to the deepest wheel, you know when you've found it because that wheel will elicit the most triggers, the most emotions.
This is the great art of watching and understanding your behaviours. Your wheels. The greatest life hack of them all.
