"You will observe that slaves walk faster than free men, and women faster than men, and sick men faster than those in health..."

Same logic that goes with chasing innovation. You can innovate to worse situations. Once you have something that works, innovation only makes it worse.

For the first time in Roman History, Caligula decided to enact a tax on sex-worker’s fees. A high number, between 17-70 percent, when other taxes were very low.
It became the most profitable revenue generator in the Roman Empire

Even if re-industralization happens, it doesn't mean that cities will come back. Most Americans prefer yards and accumulating things in a big house. I don't know if they will go back to apartments in Montgomery Alabama or Toledo Ohio.
Americans are a suburban people, for the most part.
Other people around the world tend to be city people. comfortable with density.

Kamala was probably the weakest presidential candidate I've ever seen. She isn't a great speaker. Has no charisma. Isn't clever with policy. Doesn't represent an ideal.
For the Dems to do this well with a candidate like this makes me think this election was good news for them.
"why does Tesla have such a big presence in Berlin?"
"Musk likes techno and drugs"
"Oh. That makes sense".
