Sometimes the biggest lesson #Bitcoin teaches is that trust is the enemy of security.
For years we’ve repeated the mantra: Don’t trust, verify. But the truth is, most of us eventually place trust in a brand, a device, or a company because it has earned a reputation.
The #Coldcard incident was a reminder that nothing in #Bitcoin should ever be treated as untouchable. Security is not a permanent state, it’s an ongoing process of learning, questioning, and adapting.
Trust is like glass. It can take years to build and only a moment to crack.
As painful as this has been, it reminds us that the final responsibility is always ours. Not the wallet, not the company, not the influencer, not anyone else.
In #Bitcoin, real peace of mind doesn’t come from trust. It comes from understanding, preparation, and taking responsibility for your own security.
MOST OF ALL, I HOPE THOSE WHO WERE AFFECTED BY THIS VULNERABILITY REMAIN BITCOINERS. LOSING FUNDS IS DEVASTATING, BUT LOSING FAITH IN THE IDEA OF BITCOIN WOULD BE AN EVEN GREATER LOSS. I GENUINELY HOPE THEY RECOVER, LEARN FROM THIS, AND STAY WITH US FOR THE LONG JOURNEY AHEAD.
