Minnesota’s luscious and mesmerizing landscape inspires the mind to reveal what is contained beneath the subsoil; the passage of time in layers unseen to the eye. These deep sediments, the space, a build-up over years of evolution, and nature’s forces working upon matter display a colorful fabric, a space that holds us. Awareness comes from the relationship an individual establishes with themselves, the environment, and one another. In this piece, Time is not just perceived as cyclical; it is also represented as an itinerary, a route, a line that defines migratory paths, as nodes connecting transitions, progressions, and liminal spaces within evolution. The compositions stem from the area’s topography, geological data, and natural surroundings. Lines and nodes interweave with small vignettes reminiscent of old postcards from the location, blending the past with the present. Public art An immersive glass and metal site intervention at the Interdisciplinary Engineering Building (U. Washington), creating a dynamic, stage-like wraparound environment that embraces and shapes an ever-changing experience through light and perspective. Vibrant glass panels interact with metal silhouettes, forming layered compositions that shift depending on the viewer's position, both indoors and from the surrounding outdoor spaces. Inspired by Oskar Schlemmer's Triadic Ballet, where the human form is reimagined as spheres, cones, and cylinders, it translates this geometry into a structural language of engineering — integrating form, motion, and perception.
