There's an Open Source application for Linux desktops called "Freetube", I did try it many times before switching to Brave. Freetube is an application that I think it acts as a proxy of Youtube. Somehow, someone involved to this open project, could manage to use its inner Youtube's account links, in order to bypass Google's limitations. I also know that it relies on Youtube's features such as embeding videos to other sites. But for things like downloading, you would need an account and I think this author is using its account + bash features as a proxy on the App for others using that App. Now, having said this, ¿Wouldn't that be a good idea for X? I mean, you could fork/boost X's posts to a new App or Web site, and instead of commenting inside X, you comment to those posts's embeddings outside X. It's like using Amethyst for commenting on embedded posts, therefore this comments /reposts can only be read and interacted on the new forked App, and never be seen inside X. Aurorastore is an example of this, also: Rimusic (it proxies Spotify), and many other Apps.
