It takes a particular kind of arrogance, the very kind only found in bureaucrats and central planners; to believe that a handful of government officials, sitting in insulated offices, can outthink the six billion individuals on this planet, each acting in their own interest with their own limited capital, time, and knowledge 🤷🏻
They imagine they can actually engineer outcomes, as if economies were static machines rather than a reflection of living systems.
You see, markets are actually the people; each decision made, each transaction settled is a vote for what matters most to them. Artificial manipulation replaces millions of informed decisions with a few uninformed ones, creating obvious distortions, shortages, and waste.
The free market’s allocation of our scarce resources is by no means perfect but it’s the least arrogant mechanism that humanity has ever designed, because it admits that no one person or government knows enough to plan everything.
