Started reading 'Permissionless Innovation' last night. They show how the US has a 'Permissionless Innovation' policy mindset, while the EU has a 'Precautionary Principle' one. - 'Permissionless Innovation' allows for innovation unless it can be demonstrated that with proof why it should be disallowed. - 'Precautionary Principle' focus on curtailing innovation until you can prove that it 'will not cause any harm to individuals, groups, specific entities, cultural norms, or various existing laws, norms, or traditions.' In 2024 each USA working person produced $176,380 vs $93,300 in the EU. I wonder how much is due to this mindset to stop innovation. image #Policy #Innovation #Growth #USA #EU

I am moving my career to decentralized technology such as Bitcoin and Nostr. Now I am pondering if I should stay anon or not. Is there any good write-ups or advice on the trade-offs between the two. I can imagine that if you work on privacy related stuff that you want to stay anon. And if you are personally guiding people in self-custody where trust is required then being doxxed may be a benefit. Any advice or links to some good write-ups would be much appreciated. I can go and as a AI, but want more real world experienced feedback. #AskNostr

This is disturbing to Apple users. You buy a Apple gift card from a big retailer. Try to redeem it, but it does not work. Next thing you know you have been locked out of your account. This bricks all your Apple hardware and purchases. #Linux and @GrapheneOS looks more sexy every day. #Centralization #Apple #VendorLock

"You have to worry about your own work and ignore what everyone else is doing." Richard Feynman This was what Richard Feynman discovery after reading The Double Helix and realizing that Watson had gaps in his knowledge, yet succeeded, just by intensely focusing on the problem. Keep you head down and build! image #Nostr #Quote #Motivation.
