Nice article I grew up in the same era and at various points in my life I've identified with most political labels under the sun My love affair with labels ended on Twitter, where I saw that almost everyone of all political stripes was a complete asshole And the problem was the labels themselves The final straw was seeing my self-righteous political tribe conduct online bullying campaigns against survivors of sexual abuse It still shocks me to write that So I left Twitter and the labels behind Everyone is flawed, so yeah absolutely what people do, if they can manage to be kind to each other that's all that matters Politically now my beliefs are too nebulous to fall into a category, I think I value more freedom, that's about it Political parties seem like a bit of an anachronism anyway, there are surely better ways of sharing a planet

Bluesky focusses on aggregates and quality levels Nostr focusses on individuals and rights So you have the Bluesky app which is high quality but the Bluesky network is entirely centralized And you have a watertight Bluesky marketing program going VERY hard for a particular target audience While #nostr isn't targetted View article →

Does this expression look pessimistic? 🤔 #hopepunk image “Buddhist pessimism paralyzed India. State patronage helped it build massive centers of ‘education,’ but what use is an education that tells you that you cannot know the truth or improve the world to minimize suffering? Buddhism and its centers disappeared from India around the thirteenth century. Its sages were brilliant, but their pessimism prevented them from developing vibrant, political, legal, or economic theories and practices. They could not develop an interest in technology and science.” — Vishal Mangalwadi
