March #Bitcoin    meetup! Opened with a brief chat on the Greenpeace art piece, inflation and banking. Then as always we discussed what Bitcoin is, questions and answers. dublinbitcoiners.com/why-and-how-to… Next: The Treasure grab. This involved step by step instructions on how to create & restore a wallet and send BTC. Once everyone was up to speed, we revealed 12 words to a wallet that had 200k Sats. Everyone then raced to restore the wallet and send the Sats to a wallet they controlled. We then moved onto the planned topic of the day. Hardware wallets. We spoke about what a hardware wallet was. Built a Seedsigner from start to finish. Created an offline seed/wallet. We then took our master public key and created a watch only wallet. Sent Sats to the new wallet. And then from the watch only wallet we created a transaction and signed it with our offline hardware. Thank you to everyone who came yesterday I had a lot of fun! Our next event is a Treasure hunt around St. Annes park on the 29th of April. dublinbitcoiners.com/treasure-hunt Help spread the word. Hope to see you all there 😁

Tips for buying a Bitcoin hardware wallet NEVER buy a hardware wallet from a reseller (Amazon or Ebay). Buy directly from the manufacturer! For privacy use a parcel locker like OOHPod .com rather than using your home address. Choose a wallet that uses open-source software. Join us at our Bitcoin meetup this Saturday 25/3 @ 1pm image
