Is Pride evil? One of the most critical tasks your life will be to build/earn your identity. The result of individual actions and accomplishment. Is it only healthy to take pride in your identity if you have earned it, simply subscribing to a mass produced identity package can ever be considered an achievement. In regards to the definition of good and Evil, it could be defined as anything that increases the individuals agency should be considered good. So when an individual subscribes to a cookie cutter identity subscription all of the in group biases take hold, the identity package itself must remove critical thinking in order to perpetuate and then consumes in all cases the agency of the individual participants, destroying value (freedoms) for both in group and out group actors as civilization / value creation flourishes only through freedom of exchange... cooperation. Identity subscriptions are also called government, nationalities, religions, many ...isms, sexual preference, ancestry, race or any collectivized group where the emergent behavior of the subscription package consumes the agency of the participants and the pride movement is nothing more then a modern new agency consuming identity subscription, as dangerous as all previous. The individual cannot "fix" their ancestry if it is criticized, leading to a sense of helplessness masked by aggression. Stunted Personal Growth: Authentic pride fuels a desire for mastery and learning. In contrast, unearned pride fosters a fixed mindset. If one believes they are already "great" due to their birth, the motivation to learn, adapt, or improve diminishes. This leads to poor mental health outcomes, including higher levels of neuroticism and lower resilience in the face of genuine failure. The "Empty" Signal: Evolutionary theory suggests emotions guide us toward survival-enhancing actions. Pride in unearned traits provides a false positive signal of high status without the underlying capacity to deliver benefits. When reality inevitably contradicts this signal (e.g., the individual fails to perform), the resulting cognitive dissonance can be psychologically damaging. Collectivism can be a result of unjustified pride. If you adopt a historical lineage, national identity, Social ideology, organized religion, sexual preference and base your identity around it, this is the route you are on. If productivity gains we're not stolen through State issued inflation the general consumer would regain time to think, and would quickly begin thinking unsanctioned anti statist thoughts. The natural and anti fragile state of human populations is decentralized, the population occupies countless positions free to explore and discuss any idea without permission, this is how it obtains it's anti fragility, it quickly fines and identifies threats/problems and within the diversity of individuals a solution can always be found. But In times of direct threat danger or weakness we collectivize, group together overcoming a specific adversity, this should be a temporary phenomenon because its a fragile state putting whole population at risk, do to the fact that a collective State removes individualism (the prodding mechanism). Its like we put all our eggs in one basket solving a specific problem blind to any others that inevitably come. This is the mechanism government religions have co-opted, as long as they can keep the population feeling a immediate direct threat danger or in a state of weakness the population will be tricked into collectivizing, allowing government to feed and grow at the small cost of putting the entire race in danger. We could be living in abundance surrounded by a ultra robust society produced by billions of individual problem solving agents, instead we have a handful of fragile collectives ( keeping us safe🙃) One World government = Global fragile state. #ideas
