My mother called me this morning saying my cousin lost his whole thumb in a work accident and that he was in the hospital over night needing surgery to reattach his thumb. I tried reaching out to my cousin but he didn't answer so I got ahold of my uncle. He said my cousin just got a deep cut on this thumb and needed just six stitches. I don't know how my mother came up with the story of an amputation and overnight hospital stay.

I released an update for my app Infans. I had someone point out a couple problem that seemed urgent to me. If you see any bugs or want any additional features please let me know. Disclaimer I'm not a dev just a vibe coder. Feel free to look at the code and let me know what I can improve. Yes the app supports Amber. NIP-44 v2 Spec Compliance + Disclaimers Crypto Fixes (Nip44 .kt) AES-256-GCM to ChaCha20 + HMAC-SHA256 (RFC 8439) Correct 2-phase HKDF: extract salt="nip44-v2", per-message expand info=nonce Chunk-based padding with calcPaddedLen MAC verification on decrypt with constant-time comparison Minimum payload validation (99 bytes / 132 base64 chars) ECDH uses raw x-coordinate via BouncyCastle Tags/Docs encrypted tag: "nip44" to "nip44v2" README: Medical Disclaimer + Security Notice zapstore .yaml: Medical Disclaimer + Security Notice Tests Nip44 Test. kt: 19 tests including official spec test vector Breaking Change Old backups encrypted with AES-GCM (tag "nip44") will not decrypt with the new NIP-44 v2 implementation. Local Room database is unaffected. A fresh backup will be created on the next export. This is what I'm currently working on adding to the app. Please let know if you want any additional features or see any bugs. 1. **Sleep timer start/stop times** β€” display both start and end times (e.g. "22:36 - 07:51 (9h 15m)") instead of just duration 2. **Vaccine tracker** β€” track vaccine type, date administered, next dose. Add to existing Health tab (alongside medications and body temperature) 3. **Multi-language support** β€” i18n/localization so users can pick their language 4. **QR code partner pairing** β€” replace manual npub entry with QR scan 5. **Partner pairing options** β€” support pasting npub, NIP-05 identifier, or scanning QR code 6. **Export npub from app** β€” when a user generates an nsec in-app, add option to copy npub to clipboard for sharing 7. **Swap default relay** β€” replace relay .primal .net with nostr .oxtr .dev (new users only, existing users keep their saved relays) 8. **Frictionless onboarding for Nostr newcomers** β€” one-tap key generation, QR-first pairing, zero relay config, hide all Nostr jargon behind sensible defaults 9. **Onboarding wizard** β€” step-by-step guided flow for key generation and partner pairing, clear non-technical language, no Nostr jargon unless advanced settings 10. **Partner pairing approval flow** β€” one partner sends a request, the other approves it. No manual npub entry needed on receiving side. Uses NIP-17 gift-wrapped DM for the request 11. **Show author on each entry** β€” display which parent logged each feeding, sleep, weight, diaper, etc. record 12. **Haptic feedback on button presses** β€” tactile vibration on all interactive buttons 13. **Haptic feedback toggle in settings** β€” switch to enable/disable haptics, default on

Being able to use my Hermes agent running on my start9 to vibe code through nostr DMs is pretty cool.

Hello, to the people that like to test nostr apps. I vibe coded a nostr based baby tracking app ( baby metrics not location). It works offline perfectly fine but if you want to you can have the data backed up to your relays and sync data with one partner. I'm not a developer, just running on pure vibes. This is my first time trying to vibe an app, and I have only tested it out on my phone and my wife's phone so far. I would appreciate any feedback you can give me on things that are broken or features request. Once I make sure the app is fully usable and stable I will add it to Zapstore but I didn't want to publish a broken app. I had my clanker write the following app description. Infans is a simple, privacy-first baby tracker. It helps parents log feedings, sleep, diapers, and growth β€” without ads, accounts, or cloud services that most baby apps push on you. Works completely offline. No internet connection required. Your data lives on your device, so it works whether you're home, in a hospital with spotty Wi-Fi, or traveling with no signal at all. Nothing leaves your phone unless you choose to sync. Nostr sync β€” when you want it. Infans can sync your logs over Nostr, meaning your data moves directly between your devices without passing through a company's servers. No account, no cloud, no middleman. You control your own data, and sync only happens on your terms. Sync with a partner. Both parents can track the same baby and stay in sync over Nostr. When one parent logs a feeding or a diaper change, the other sees it on their device. No "did you feed the baby?" texts at 2 AM β€” just open the app and know. Each parent uses their own Nostr identity, so both have full ownership of their data while sharing what matters. Key features: β€’ Track feedings, sleep, diapers, and growth measurements β€’ Fully offline by default β€” works anywhere, no connection needed β€’ Nostr sync to your own devices, no cloud, no account β€’ Partner sync so both parents see the same logs in real time β€’ Clean, fast interface designed for one-handed use at 3 AM β€’ View patterns and trends over time Infans is built for parents who want something that just works, respects their privacy, and keeps both caregivers on the same page β€” without handing their child's data to a company.

I'm not a lawyer but I was just curious about something. Below is what the AI spit out from my prompt. "Let's say say I'm a managing partner at venture capitalist firm. I invest in a company that put a backdoor in a product to exploit at a later time. I was aware of the backdoor but did nothing to warn anyone about it. The company then took advantage of the backdoor to steal funds from there users. Can I be held responsible? " *Disclaimer: I am an AI, not a lawyer. The following information is for educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. If you are dealing with a real-world situation similar to this, you should consult a qualified attorney immediately.* Yes, in the scenario you described, it is highly likely that you and your venture capital firm could be held both criminally and civilly responsible. While simply knowing about a crime and doing nothing is not always a crime in itself, the context of being a major investor (and potentially a board member) changes the legal landscape significantly. Providing capital and support to a company while possessing prior knowledge of their intent to commit fraud or theft crosses the line from passive observation to active enablement. Here is a breakdown of the potential avenues for liability: ## Criminal Liability ### Aiding and Abetting In many jurisdictions, providing material supportβ€”such as venture capital fundingβ€”to an entity while knowing that the funds or the business will be used to commit a crime can lead to charges of aiding and abetting. By injecting capital into the company with full knowledge of the backdoor and the intent to exploit it, prosecutors could argue that you facilitated the theft. ### Conspiracy Criminal conspiracy involves an agreement between two or more parties to commit a crime, followed by an overt act to further that agreement. Even if you did not write the code for the backdoor or execute the theft yourself, your decision to invest after learning of the scheme could be construed as an implicit agreement and an overt act that furthered the criminal enterprise. ### Wire Fraud and Cybercrime Laws In the United States, stealing funds via a backdoor exploit would likely violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) and federal wire fraud statutes. Because you were aware of the scheme and your investment helped the company stay afloat or build the product, the Department of Justice (DOJ) could indict you as a co-conspirator in these federal crimes. ## Civil Liability ### Lawsuits from Victims (Civil Conspiracy and Fraud) The users who had their funds stolen would almost certainly file class-action lawsuits against the company. During the discovery process, if communications or testimonies reveal that you or your VC firm knew about the backdoor, you would likely be named as co-defendants. Plaintiffs could sue you for fraud, civil conspiracy, and conversion (civil theft), seeking to hold you jointly liable for the stolen funds and punitive damages. ### Breach of Fiduciary Duty (If on the Board) As a managing partner of a VC firm, it is common to take a seat on the board of directors of your portfolio companies. Corporate directors have a fiduciary duty of loyalty and a duty of oversight (often referred to as *Caremark* duties in Delaware corporate law) to ensure the company is not engaging in illegal activities. Knowing about a deliberate plan to steal from users and failing to stop it is a severe breach of these duties. This could result in direct liability or shareholder derivative lawsuits. ## Regulatory Action Government agencies, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), or the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) (depending on the nature of the funds and the product), have broad authority to penalize entities involved in defrauding the public. Your firm could face massive fines, disgorgement of any profits, and you could be permanently barred from acting as an officer, director, or investment advisor in the future. ## Conclusion The defense of "I only invested, I didn't push the button" generally falls apart when there is proof of prior knowledge of malicious intent. By intentionally funding a company that you knew was plotting to steal from its users, the law would likely view you not as a passive bystander, but as a financial backer of a criminal operation.
