LibreNostr v0.5.17 is out — and this one is a big deal for feed speed. 🚀 Two changes under the hood: • Outbox-aware relay routing: your feed queries now also reach the relays that the people you follow actually publish to (NIP-65 write relays), not just the relays configured in your settings. No more waiting on a relay that never had a given author's notes in the first place. • Viewport-gated stats: like/reply/repost/zap counts are now fetched only for notes actually on screen, instead of eagerly loading stats for an entire page up front. Together, these make scrolling the feed and checking notifications noticeably snappier — less waiting, less spinning, more reading. GM with a new build of Librenostr! Fixed a real bug behind slow pull-to-refresh on feed/notifications: relay subscriptions were staying "open" until an entire page's fetch settled across every relay, even for relays that had already answered in milliseconds. A couple of public relays (nostr.mom, offchain. pub) reject a connection outright once too many of its subscriptions are still open at once — so fast relays kept getting penalized for slow ones nearby, on every single refresh. Fixed in three parts: Subscriptions now close the moment each relay actually answers, not after the whole page settles A relay's rejection now fails instantly instead of sitting through the full timeout for a reply that was never coming No more than 4 relay queries run concurrently app-wide. Now the app should feel faster, more changes in the pipeline. #grownostr #librenostr

LibreNostr v0.5.15 is out. Continues the Primal Purging: removed the in-app wallet for good, custodial balance, the self-custodial option, promo codes, all of it. Zapping is untouched: still builds a standard zap request and hands the invoice to whatever Lightning wallet you already have installed. Also a good chunk of performance work this round: smoother scrolling in long reply threads (was rebuilding every visible card on any unrelated change), fewer redundant database queries when saving a fetched feed page, a couple of memory leaks closed, bigger image cache so scrolling back up doesn't re-download everything.
