Between 2014 and 2017, billions were invested by people worldwide who believed they were part of a groundbreaking change. In October 2017, Ignatova disappeared after boarding a flight to Athens, leaving no confirmed trace of her whereabouts. Her disappearance is considered a historical anomaly in an age of constant surveillance. Theories about her fate include murder by organized crime, living under a new identity with assistance from cartels or intelligence agencies, or being alive in private exile after extreme surgical changes. Ignatova is now on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list, a rare occurrence for women in its 74-year history."
