As I predicted, the Gov't argued that FinCEN's opinions are irrelevant. Noting the end of the Chevron doctrine, the Gov't argued that "FinCEN published guidance, let alone the informal opinion of FinCEN employees, are not regulations or rules and have no authoritative effect."

All mining companies should be vigorously donating to Samourai's defense fund. This case could be the vehicle to attack bitcoin. If Samourai is an "unlicensed money transmitting business," then so are miners. The same holds for Lightning infrastructure businesses.

I don't understand why more in the ecosystem haven't spoken up for Samourai. If CoinJoin coordinators are unlicensed money transmitting businesses, then guess what? So are miners.
