Atlanta. COVID sanity. Bitcoin not crypto. Gay not LGBT. Former biochemist turned patent litigator.
I was a bit turned off that the apartment I'm applying for needed three bank statements, three pay stubs, two forms of ID, a background check, a credit check, and a face scan. I nearly asked them if they needed an anal swab, too. But maybe they have a reason for asking. https://image.nostr.build/21f615b409dd434a0fc21c9f2d0174d920c64db64d2df9a9dbad4c2abdf5f7ac.jpg#m=image%2Fjpeg&dim=1152x1331&blurhash=%7BZF%7EU4E2D%25RPMxWBRjjY00%252x%5Dozt7j%5DoffkNGozjFkCkDaekCj%5B%7EpM%7BRkV%40Rjj%5DWBae4.xaxuj%5Dofflofj%5BxubbV%3Fbbbbaefkj%40WBWAo%23jZjYogayWB%25MWqRjaeWBWVfQj%5BD%25s%3As%3AkCogjZoLjt&x=644bd6d7ab067b045e8f9058b7a20cd490115b8fcdcb3325114e5b276d09e803
The Supreme Court has held that the federal government can imprison you for growing weed in your own backyard for your own personal consumption under the Interstate Commerce Clause (even though that isn't "interstate" or "commerce"). Gonzales v. Raich (2005). Texas should absolutely ignore the Supreme Court. https://image.nostr.build/bcafe80de866d1a365e0ad9f2b2560b33958584cb07c908ddc94c050d717a608.jpg#m=image%2Fjpeg&dim=1028x537&blurhash=i3N%2C_Dj%5D_3xu-%3Bof%25MM%7Bax-%3DIURjozM%7Bt6ayogoe%7EqM%7BM%7BfRM%7Bt6WBt7ofIVRjxuWBt7ayt7WBWBxvofWBj%5Bj%5BWBWBj%5Bay&x=7d162e462a082a01ee3cea5793c6175530bb6db4a997bf4c234043fc19bf0219
We need to reevaluate defamation. Courts are enforcing bankruptcy-inducing jury awards for speech wherein falsity and damages are decided by a mere preponderance of the evidence. IMO, ruinous awards should require more than "eh that statement was probably false."
Twitter users: "PLEASE GIVE CIRCLES BACK" Elon Musk: "Alright fine you can have PayPal on Twitter."
I'm applying for an apartment in Midtown Atlanta. With a 16-month lease, they offered one month of free rent. Today, they extended it to six weeks of free rent. Seems like a signpost.
There's a debate as to whether the 2011 Tuscaloosa–Birmingham tornado was an EF5 or a high-end EF4, but the distinction wasn't important for anyone in its path. The tornado lasted an astonishing 1 hour and 31 minutes, traveling 81 miles with a max width of 1.5 miles. https://video.nostr.build/a3fa42eebfbb4ef084fd974cad63582be9de233788d1d39be2caeb0a1d63d529.mp4#m=video%2Fmp4&dim=432x768&alt=2011+Tuscaloosa+tornado&blurhash=%5DBEfNP00M%7BM%7B%25MD*xus%3Aoft700%25Lx%5Dt7j%40%7EqD%25RjV%40M%7B4m-%3BWBazf6RQt7ofoft7%25NWBWBWBWBIUt7bHR*ofozRjofoLWB&x=df40b0b7a16b1d71c9ce60c4edd9e164098ebde18babd1a590efaf5b8cea518f
I thought the guy I was responding to was hot until he advocated for online ID verification laws. It's a bad idea, folks. It always STARTS with "think of the children." image
Can I throw sats at a Nostr developer who can build something like Twitter Circles before Elon nuked it? There is a lot of demand out there for updates from private groups on the timeline. Adoption here could skyrocket if Nostr can fill that void.
