"Nodes weighted by commerce" image I like this tweet from Saylor. Imo the power of "an economic node" is not simply in the verifying of transactions like some claim it is. This is not the part that makes a node gain influence. It's probably more accurate to describe a node with influence as a "providing node". What can I obtain if can communicate value with this node? What do I lose If my node or his node fork off. The lower you are situated in the supply chain the more influential your node is. I guarantee you that the farmer as more influence than you as a consumer. If the farmer fork off, you might just fork off too. If you fork off, the farmer probably won't give a fuck. image

Such a pleasure to do business with a tannery. - They actually care about their craft and the quality of their production. - They understand the needs of their customers and can accommodate them when it comes to hide sizes. - The needed communication is minimal. - The work is done fast.

I have to be very careful when I say this because I am not sure yet but *I think* I can do better than this for those prices. View quoted note →

- What is Bitcoin? - Well I think Bitcoin is trustless aggreement. - WRONG Bitcoin is code! - Oh okay well what is a pen then? - A pen is a handheld writing instrument that applies ink to a surface, usually paper. - WRONG a pen is a bunch of atoms! You see what's happening here?

I am completely unbothered and uninterested by anything that doesn't directly have to do with my craft, the development of my Bitcoin standard and my family.

If I get my way with them maybe I can produce the Bitcoin standard of holsters.

If you wanted a very nice holster for your gun and you had infinite budget where would you go? I'm trying to figure out who's the gold standard right now.

If I say I can't afford something it doesn't mean I have corn I don't want to sell it mean I can't afford it.

I wish I had a sewing machine so I wouldn't have to spend hours sewing just to test and practice a model. image

A good fit in a holster is mostly about precise molding around the trigger guard.

It's not skills it's know-how. A painter is skillful. He doesn't know how to paint something so beautiful. He does it once and can't do it exactly the same after. He's just skilled at painting. I'm not skilled at cutting, gluing and sewing. I just know how to do it correctly. It's savoir-faire.

When it comes to leather the provenance of the raw hide is, at least to my knowledge, irrelevant. A cowhide from the USA, Canada or France is a cowhide. Where you'll find a real difference is in the tannage. That's where the real craftsmanship lies. Every tannery has their technique. Their own "recipe" if you will. - Type of tannage - Retanning - Oils and waxes - Fatliquoring - Dyeing method - Aniline level - Pigmented finish - Grain correction - Drying method A cowhide from Italy is just a cowhide. A leather coming out of Badalassi Carlo tannery is unmistakably Italian.

I think I can bring something new/different to the current holster market. It might exist somewhere, but I can find anyone doing them in my standard.
