I don't know of anyone throwing more FUD and panic on the timeline than Isabella. Wild to see. Honestly not sure if it's genuine or just for content. Either way she's currently the greatest source of panic on the timeline.

Silently building The Bitcoin Standard
This is good for Bitcoin

We were waiting for a simple Bitcoin bottom and we're getting a rock bottom.
I went through a few Bitcoin bottoms and this one is really starting to feel like a rock bottom.
I'm starting to think stateless signing devices are the Bitcoin standard.
Yeah I'm late.
When I lost all my money gambling on the price of Bitcoin because I was super mega bullish and was chasing a green omega candle I didn't blame any of the "iNfLuEnCeR" who told me the fiat system was about to crumble and so much more fomo content.
I'm just a fucking greedy idiot.
Holyfud...
Everytime I wake up there's more doomerism about self custody.
Everything about it is just like last week. Nothing changed.
EXCEPT
That you shouldn't trust a device to generate the entropy.
That's it.
Self custody didn't fail. The HWW didn't leak the seed. The feature to generate entropy on the device failed.
Stop thinking like that.
Bitcoin does not care if you're casual user or not. Do it right or not at all.

Received an email from coldcard. Haven't bought from them in probably at least a year.
Weren't they deleting customers info after a while?
"They did everything correctly and they still lost everything."
No. They didn't everything correctly. Now we know that generating entropy from an electronic device is not "the correct way" to go about financial sovereignty.

I think the most fundamental lesson of this fiasco is to take entropy generation very seriously AND TO DO IT YOURSELF. Don't trust an electronic device for this.
I don't think the lesson is to simply trust an other device. I don't think the lesson is to completely drop the idea of a HWW that secure a seed (as opposed to a solution like seedsigner). I don't think the lesson is that podcasters with sponsors are evil.
The lesson is *generate a seed yourself*.
Tho I do understand if your next lesson is to simply not trust these devices at all from now on.

What have you learned from this?
Bitcoin is radical responsibility. But I see a lot of people blaming podcasters for shilling coldcard.

Lessons:
- Take entropy seriously
- periodically upgrade your security protocol
- Consider seedsigner
- ?
Suddenly the idea of building a Bitcoin company that has nothing to do with hardware or software doesn't sound as stupid.
It's a lot of work and it doesn't make me rich but I doubt I will ever such controversies making books and belts.
This is now officially the most exciting cycle I've been a part of.
Lots of fud and misinformation. Seeing people claim ridiculous things like using an Air gap signing device has been proven useless as if it has anything to do with this situation.
