*You don't have to "hack" Bitcoin's consensus rules to influence how the network behaves.
You can steer what gets relayed, mined, or socially accepted by quietly shaping the development process — who gets funded, who reviews changes, which features become defaults, how releases are timed, and how communication is framed*

*If you use [Shockwallet] in bootstrap mode it's using our Pub as a back-end, the next phase of this however is that when the balance is adequate the wallet will upgrade itself to a cloud node (or prompt you to connect your own) such that you can then invite your friends and family to it and get some ROI on hosting/channel costs*

*Proof-of-work links the act of energy expenditure directly to a permanent informational record. It’s not just heat anymore, it’s memory and proof. This why proof-of-work and consensus must be tied: one measures energy, the other orders it in time*

*btc really is technically sound, decentralized, capable -- but the fact that it's possible seems to be enough, nobody has to be actually doing any transacting. The threat of transaction is sufficient for finance bros to ape in and for Saylor's rousing speeches to have their intended effect.
It's worth asking how long this can go on for without the whole thing collapsing. I think about that all the time.*

*Social media is 99% noise and nonsense... and trivially easy to sybil-attack or misrepresent. Bots are created in-mass... and there's no real solution to this unless people pay ie pay-2-post.
Which is funny because 'people' argue over the nuance of op_return... but will they really pay to outbid the spammers or keep them from spamming?
No... which I think is more telling.*
I look at pay-2-post on Stacker News the exact same way I look at hash-cash and Bitcoin mining itself. Pay-to-use, pay-to-store and pay-to-interact... some kind of economic, uncheatable consequence for action.
